According to a report by Indian Autos Blog, Maruti Suzuki dealers have started to accept bookings for the upcoming Vitara Brezza compact SUV. Showcased at the ongoing 2016 Auto Expo, the Vitara Brezza is a sub-four-meter offering which rivals vehicles like the Mahindra TUV300 and the Ford EcoSport.
Powering what is MSIL’s first offering in the segment will be a 1.3-liter diesel engine (Fiat-sourced) that makes 90 PS and 200 Nm of torque. A driver airbag is expected to be standard across the range, while ABS and passenger airbags can be standard on higher trims or as optional extras.
The publication maintains that bookings can now be made against a deposit of Rs 21,000, while deliveries will begin next month. The project has been headed by MSIL’s Mr C V Raman, and the vehicle is said to be designed and developed in the country itself – another proud moment for us, isn’t it!
The vehicle is 3,995 mm long and boasts a ground clearance of 198mm and a boot space of 328 liters.
