The XUV700 is currently the flagship model from Mahindra in the market. It was launched in 2021 and quickly gained popularity among customers. Even two years after its launch, the XUV700 still has a long waiting period for certain variants. It is one of the most technologically advanced SUVs built by Mahindra to date. While it is a premium SUV, like any other manufacturer, the lower variant of the car lacks some features. Many customers choose aftermarket customizations to make their car unique. Here, we have a video where a brand new Mahindra XUV700 lower variant has been neatly customized into a top-end variant.
The video has been uploaded by Autorounders on their YouTube channel. In this video, the owner of the XUV700 recently bought the SUV and brought it directly to the workshop for customization work. This is the AX5 version, which means it does not come with leatherette upholstery and many other features. The owner of the car wanted his SUV to have a premium look. It already comes with alloy wheels from the factory, so the owner only wanted interior customization.

The team at Autorounders began working on the customization. They completely removed the panels on the doors and pillars for ease of work. The AX5 variant comes with simple black interior door opening handles, which were replaced with brushed aluminum finish units from the higher models. All the parts replaced in this car are genuine Mahindra parts. The door panels now have gloss black inserts for a more upscale feel. The door panels are wrapped in white-colored material, the same color available in the higher variants of the XUV700. The dashboard has also been wrapped in leatherette material.

The fabric seat covers that came with the car were black. They were replaced with custom-made seat covers in ice gray or white shade. The car already looked premium. The fit and finish of the work done on this XUV700 look brilliant. The owner also opted for ambient lights. The light strips have been neatly placed on the door pads and dashboard. The color of the lights can be controlled using a mobile application. Other than this, no other major work has been done on this car. In this video, we can see the owner’s reaction. He is extremely happy with the final results and can be heard saying that he has run out of words to explain his happiness.
The AX5 variant comes with twin 10.25-inch displays on the dashboard; however, it lacks features such as leatherette upholstery, dual-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, ADAS features, and so on. The car shown here is the 5-seater variant. Mahindra offers the XUV700 in both 5- and 7-seater configurations. It is available with a 2.2-liter mHawk turbocharged diesel engine option. The petrol variant is powered by a 2.0-liter mStallion turbocharged unit. Both petrol and diesel engine options are available with manual and 6-speed automatic transmission options. The top-end AX7 variant even offers an option for the AWD system.
