Politicians and rich businessmen often use bulletproof vehicles. However, the vehicles themselves are usually expensive and luxurious. Here, we have an unusual type of bulletproof vehicle. It is a Mahindra Scorpio that has been bullet-proofed.
The video is uploaded by Sanjeet Jaat on his YouTube channel. The video shows us the bullet-proof Scorpio. It is finished in black colour. Black coloured Scorpios have a separate fan base altogether. The SUV sits lower to the ground because of the added weight. Due to this, the ground clearance has been decreased and the side steps have been removed.

The host first shows us the side-hinged rear tailgate. At first, it looks like a regular tailgate but when the host opens it there is a wall behind it that also has bulletproof glass. There is also an aftermarket subwoofer placed in the boot of the Scorpio. It has a capacity of 1200W and is from JBL.
The suspension of the Scorpio has been redone but still, it is tilting towards one side. So, it will be repaired once again. There is also some rusting that you can see when you open the rear tailgate, on the window sills, inner side of the doors and on the roof rails. The doors have also been bulletproofed. Because of the additional weight, the doors themselves swing a bit. The windows are also bulletproof but the thickness of the windows is not mentioned.
Despite adding so much weight, the Scorpio is pulling from a standstill in the second gear without much of a protest. There is a lot of nose-dive under heavy braking because of so much weight. There is also quite a bit of body roll. The fuel efficiency has decreased quite a bit and also it builds speeds slower than the regular Scorpio.
We can see in the video that the interior has also been customized of the Scorpio. It is now finished in a tan brown colour which does give a premium appeal to the cabin. Even the A-pillar of the SUV has been finished in the same tan brown colour scheme. There are no changes to the dashboard of the SUV. The video says that the bulletproof Scorpio costs Rs. 50 lakhs which is a lot of money for a Scorpio.
The current Scorpio starts at Rs. 12.77 lakhs ex-showroom and goes up to Rs. 17.61 lakhs ex-showroom. For this amount of money, you can get a top-end Toyota Fortuner Legender 4×4 in Bangalore. Even some premium SUVs like Audi Q2, BMW X1 and Mercedes-Benz GLA costs less than the bulletproof Scorpio.
