The extension of the lockdown due to COVID-19 has negatively impacted automobile sales.Automakers are exploring new ways to boost sales. Few of them have launched dedicated websites for this. These websites not only let you configure your car with the accessories of your choice but also allow you to book your car online. You can go and pick up your car once the lockdown is over or you can even have it delivered to your doorstep. Here are three manufacturers that are accepting online booking for their cars:
Hyundai
“Click to Buy” is the portal launched by the Korean carmaker. The portal offers almost all the cars from exceptfor Xcent and Kona Electronic. It takes a 6-step process to book the car once you have registered your details at the Hyundai portal.
- First, select the car, variant, and the dealer.
- Second, select the colour of the exterior and the interior of the car (if applicable).
- Third, select a preferred purchasing method, extended warranty, and the mode of delivery.
- Fourth, receive the quotation and raise your queries if any, to the representative appointed by the dealer. This representative will help you in proceeding further.
- Fifth, select the preferred financing option among the options provided on the portal.
- Sixth, finalize the order and confirm the booking.
Tata Motors
The Indian carmaker has launched its online platform- “Click to drive” to offer the bookings for Tiago, Tigor, Altroz, Nexon and the Harrier. The portal also offers a valuation of your old car to provide an opportunity of exchange to the buyer on any such existing offers. The helpline number “1800 209 8282” is also given on the portal. The booking process involves four simple steps:
- First, select a car.The portal is equipped with special video brochures.
- Second, select the dealer and pay the booking amount to reserve the car and wait for a call from the representative of the dealer.
- Third, receive the price quotation, financing options, and also the estimated value of the old car (if any).
- Fourth, decide the mode of delivery.
MG Motors
Owing to its size and resemblance to an SUV, MG Hector is very well accepted in the Indian market Through its “E-booking” process MG is accepting online bookings for Hector and ZS EV. The carmaker has kept the procedure very simple.
- First, select your car, variant, power train, and fuel type.
- Second, select the colour.
- Third, select the dealership.
- Fourth, fill-in your contact details.
- Fifth, fill in your details.
- Sixth, enter your PAN no. and pay the booking amount.
The lockdown and almost zero customer visits to the showrooms compelled most of the carmakers to replicate the process of offline buying by appointing an online sales consultant to every customer. The consultant will get in touch with the buyer through a call and offers his services like financing, negotiations(if possible), and other matters pertaining to the buying and selling of the car. Hence, by making it convenient for the buyer and also by assisting in the whole process the carmaker ensures a fairly easy and simple online car booking.
