BYD has launched its second big offering in the Indian car market, the Atto 3 all-electric SUV. Compared to the first-ever BYD offering, the e6 MPV, the Atto 3 is a fully-electric midsize SUV, which will take on other offerings in this segment like the Tata Nexon EV Max, MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona EV. India’s first production all-electric SUV which is based on a born-electric platform, the BYD Atto 3 has arrived in a single variant. The bookings are open at Rs 50,000 and the cancellation charge is Rs 25,000. BYD says that the deliveries will start in January 2023. Price announcement will happen in November 2022.

The BYD Atto 3 also gets vertical air intakes and dual-tone alloy wheels, while at the back, it has sleek-looking LED tail lamps in connecting fashion. A wide-looking C-pillar garnish, which is finished in a theme of silver, adds a nice contrast to the side profile of the BYD Atto 3.
On the inside, the BYD Atto 3 gets a dual-tone theme of grey and blue for the upholstery, which is something not usually seen in vehicles. The highlight of the cabin has to be the 12.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which is compatible with Apple Carplay and Android Auto and is rotatable. There are 8 speakers as standard.
The Atto 3 also gets a fully-digital TFT instrument console, automatic climate control, powered front seats, a 360-degree parking camera, a panoramic sunroof, an electric tailgate and a wireless charger. Irrespective of the battery pack options, the BYD Atto 3 comes standard with a front-mounted electric motor, which generates 200 PS of maximum power and 310 Nm of maximum torque. The BYD Atto 3 claims a 0-100 km/h sprint time of 7.3 seconds.
