Siddharth Nath Singh, Cabinet Minister of Uttar Pradesh has bought a Hyundai Alcazar. He has bought the Alcazar in Starry Night paint scheme. It is not clear which variant he has chosen and whether he has gone for the 6-seater version or the 7-seater version.
The video is uploaded on YouTube by Learn To Drive. In the video, we can see the cabinet minister arriving in a Toyota Innova Crysta. There is a cake ceremony arranged for him. He is also seen completing the paperwork for the new SUV.

The Alcazar is the most recent SUV to be launched by Hyundai in the Indian market. It sits between the Creta and the Tucson. Hyundai said that it is aimed towards people who are looking for an upgrade from Creta.
Pricing and competitors
The Alcazar starts at Rs. 16.30 lakhs ex-showroom and goes up to Rs. 20.14 lakhs ex-showroom. It competes against the Mahindra XUV700, MG Hector Plus and Tata Safari.
Shares underpinnings with Creta
The Alcazar shares its underpinnings with its smaller sibling, Creta. It has the same platform as Creta. It also gets the same diesel engine. The front end and the cabin design is also the same as the Creta.
Engine and gearbox
Hyundai offers the Alcazar with a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. The petrol engine puts out 159 PS of max power and 191 Nm of peak torque. The diesel engine produces 115 PS of max power and 250 Nm of peak torque. Both the engines are offered with a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. There are also three drive modes and three traction modes on offer with the automatic gearbox. The drive modes are named Eco, City, and Sport and traction modes are called snow, sand, and mud.
Features
Unlike other vehicles, Alcazar is not offered with any base variant. So, even the lower-spec Prestige variant will be very well be loaded with features. It gets LED headlamps with LED Daytime Running Lamps, panoramic sunroof, a 7-inch supervision cluster, ambient lighting, smart key, LED tail lamps, keyless entry, sun shades, cruise control, automatic climate control, remote engine start, push-button to start/stop, wireless charger and leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear knob.
There is also a lot of safety equipment as standard. It gets rear disc brakes, dual airbags, ABS with EBD, Stability Control, Hill Start Assist, Vehicle Stability Management, automatic headlamps, LED fog lamps, tyre pressure monitoring system, rear parking sensors, electrochromic mirror, rear defogger, rear camera with adaptive guidelines and much more.
If you upgrade to higher variants then you get front parking sensors, side and curtain airbags, a Surround-view monitor and a Blind view monitor. Higher variants also get Bose sound system, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster for the driver, leather upholstery and larger alloy wheels.
