Does All-New Honda Amaze’s ADAS Offer Next Level Safety? Live Test On Highway [Video]

The Japanese automotive giant Honda has recently launched the third-generation Amaze in India. This time around, this sub-compact sedan is being offered with a number of premium and safety features. Of these, the most important feature is ADAS. Honda is offering the Amaze with the Honda Sensing ADAS suite, which utilizes cameras. Now that Honda has commenced the test rides for this sedan, a video showing the ADAS tests on Indian roads has been shared online.

This video of the new Honda Amaze’s ADAS being tested on an Indian highway has been shared on YouTube by Anubhav Chaudhary on their page. It starts off with the vlogger introducing the new Honda Amaze. He highlights that the Amaze competes directly with the Dzire and offers a better CVT transmission and ADAS features. In this video, he will be testing them on Indian roads.

Following this introduction, the vlogger sits inside the Honda Amaze and starts it to drive ahead. However, before driving it, he highlights that the Amaze comes equipped with a buttery smooth engine, just like all the other Honda models. Apart from the initial startup vibrations, there are no other vibrations.

Honda Amaze CVT Gearbox and ADAS Review

The vlogger then starts driving the vehicle on the highway, and he shows how smoothly the CVT gearbox works in real-life driving. He explains that, unlike the standard automatic torque converter and the AMT gearbox on the new Dzire, it uses a belt drive, which is very smooth, and there are no jerks at all.

After this, he starts testing various ADAS features offered in this new sedan. First off, he activates the lane-keeping assist system of the sedan. He explains that with this feature, the car can steer itself even when there are curves on the road.

While testing this feature, the vlogger highlights that even with this feature turned on, it is still very important to keep your focus on the road. He adds that there are many people who believe that they can take their hands completely off the steering wheel and make short reels for social media while boasting about this feature.

However, he adds that drivers should always pay attention to the road. He then shows that this lane-keep assist feature even works on a curved road. In the video, the car can be easily seen taking a left turn on the highway without the vlogger’s hands on the wheel.

Next up, the vlogger highlights that the new Amaze offers all of the ADAS Level 2 features, which include a collision mitigation system, lead car departure, road departure mitigation system, auto high beam, and others.

He also shows the working of the adaptive cruise control system, which is offered with this sedan. The vlogger explains that with adaptive cruise control, the car—even if the cruise control has been set at one specific speed—can reduce its speed if the vehicle in front slows down.

In the video, the vlogger shows that he sets the speed at 65 kmph and keeps on driving. However, when a truck in front of the car brakes, the car reduces its speed to avoid a collision. Finally, the vlogger states that all of the ADAS features of the Amaze, along with all the other models, get activated after reaching 56 kmph.

Honda Amaze with ADAS Pricing

Honda is offering the ADAS features on the top-of-the-line ZX variants of this sedan. The Amaze ZX with a manual transmission is priced at Rs 9.7 lakh, and the ZX CVT gearbox variant is priced at Rs 10.90 lakh. This variant also gets 15-inch dual-tone alloy wheels and chrome door handles.
