Now, recently going back to his roots, the racer-turned-actor was seen tearing up the Dubai Autodrome racetrack in a BMW M2 Competition sports car. He also drove a formula car and enjoyed his day at the track.

Ajith Kumar’s Track Day at Dubai Autodrome

The video of Ajith Kumar driving a BMW M2 Competition to its limits has been shared on Instagram, courtesy of Len Prasad. It starts off with the actor arriving at the Dubai Autodrome racetrack in a white BMW M2 Competition sports car. He then changes his outfit and wears his racing fireproof suit.

Following this, he gets a briefing about the Dubai Autodrome racetrack. This briefing is attended by all the drivers before hitting the track to know which are the braking points and straights to accelerate. Following this, Ajith Kumar asks a few questions and then wears his fireproof mask and helmet.

After this, the actor gets behind the steering wheel of the BMW M2 Competition and starts driving on the track. He is first seen hitting the back straight of the track at full throttle. Following this, the scene changes to night, and he is seen driving a Formula car. The VBox shows the data of the Formula car that Ajith Kumar was driving.

Finally, the video shows the actor driving the BMW M2 Competition at full pace. It can be noted that the actor managed to touch a top speed of 217 km/h on the back straight of the Dubai Autodrome. He was seen aggressively driving this sports car. Finally, the actor gives a double thumbs up to the experience.

Ajith Kumar’s Rich Racing Heritage

Now, coming to how Ajith Kumar initially got into racing, it should be known that he started out as a mechanic. However, as his father requested him to get a job, he started working as a business developer for his family friend’s garment business. Soon after this, he transitioned into doing modeling gigs, which then brought him the opportunity to act in Tamil movies.

During his acting career, he also pursued racing and started competing in circuits around Mumbai, Chennai, and Delhi. He made his formal entry into professional racing after participating in the Formula BMW Asia Series in 2003. He then commenced his most notable stint in racing by driving in the prestigious FIA Formula 2 Championship.

Although he was competing with the best racers from across the world, he still managed to secure the 13th overall position. He has raced on international circuits such as Silverstone, Monza, and Brands Hatch. He also participated in various national racing championships, and he wishes to race in the Le Mans 24 Hours one day.

Ajith Kumar’s Latest Cars – Porsche and Ferrari

His passion for cars is evident from his car collection. The actor recently took delivery of a brand-new 992 Porsche 911 GT3 RS supercar. This ultimate track monster from Porsche is priced at a whopping Rs 3.51 crore. The actor has ticked all of the option boxes for his spec, and it comes loaded with carbon fiber.

The Porsche GT3 RS is powered by a 4-liter flat six-cylinder motor. This powerful engine is capable of producing 518 bhp and 468 Nm of torque. It comes mated to a PDK transmission. The latest generation of the GT3 RS can do a sprint of 0-100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds and hit a top speed of 296 km/h.

Apart from the Porsche 911 GT3 RS, the actor also bought himself a brand-new Ferrari SF90 Stradale hybrid supercar. He bought this supercar finished in the lovely shade of Rosso Corsa, which is the iconic Ferrari red color.

This supercar is powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine. The engine alone generates 780 PS of maximum power. As this is a plug-in hybrid, the SF90 gets three electric motors. The electric motors produce 220 PS. When combined, the car generates a maximum of 1,000 PS and 800 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

In addition to fast cars, the actor also loves adventure motorcycles. He was recently gifted a Ducati Multistrada V4 worth Rs 21.48 lakh. He also owns a number of other bikes, including a BMW S 1000 RR, BMW K 1300 S, Aprilia Caponord 1200, and a Kawasaki ZX-14R.
