Alia Bhatt Dumps Range Rover For An AutoRickshaw To Beat Mumbai Traffic [Video]

We hate Mumbai traffic and the fuss it creates. If you’ve ever had a taste of it, you know how messy it can get at some hours of the day. A corporate employee, businessman or a Bollywood diva- it doesn’t matter who you are, the city’s traffic will demand its sweet time with your patience, in most such hours. Recently, actress Alia Bhatt was spotted doing something most celebrities would hesitate to, apparently to beat the busy city traffic. She took a ride in an autorickshaw from the Gateway of India jetty and paparazzi soon spotted her. Videos of her taking the auto are now doing rounds on the internet and there is a lot to talk about this instance.

Alia is seen walking in casual clothing, escorted by her bodyguards. She has a Black face mask on. Camera flashes can be seen along with people who are filming on mobile phones. There is indeed so much attention being showered on the actress. She walks to an auto rikshaw that’s already been waiting for her and gets in.

Her bodyguard sits near her, and the autorickshaw is then seen driving off. The exact context of this ride is unclear. Captions of videos posted by some sources say she is returning from work.

The actress is looking chic, dressed in an Off-White shirt with Grey stripes, that looks rather familiar to movie buffs. Have another look at it and you will realise that it is the same shirt from the Jigra movie. Even the official posters had it.

The actress was thus in her Jigra avatar at the time of this incident. This brings us to two possibilities. One, the actress, as we said before, chose the autorickshaw instead of her luxury cars, to beat the Mumbai traffic.

Two and the most probable, this could have been a PR stunt or promotional activity for the movie. Jigra started streaming on Netflix on December 6th, and this ‘casual cum modest’ appearance on 7th, could contribute much to its OTT performance.

This isn’t Alia Bhatt’s first autorickshaw ride after coming into the spotlight

In 2021, the actress was spotted taking an autorickshaw to the Versova jetty. Here’s a video of that. Even back then, her movie Brahmastra was about to be released, and the movie had her husband Ranbir Kapoor playing the main lead. Seems too much of a coincidence?

Alia Bhatt’s Expensive Garage

Alia, together with her husband Ranbir Kapoor, owns an expensive garage. The couple has as many as 11 expensive cars and SUVs. The collection includes a Bentley Continental GT V8, Audi A8 L, Land Rover Range Rover Autobiography, Mercedes-AMG G 63, Range Rover Vogue, Audi R8 , Mercedes-AMG G 63 , Audi A6, BMW 7-Series, Audi Q5 and the Q7. One of their most recent purchases is the Lexus LM luxury MPV that’s worth 2.50 Crores. The couple bought it in mid 2024. Their LM gets a Sonic Titanium colourway.

Interestingly, both Alia and Ranbir Kapoor own the same car in two different shades! The car here, is the Land Rover Range Rover Autobiography LWB, and both Ranbir and Alia seem to be in love with its charm. Alia has bought hers in Carpathian Grey while Ranbir has opted for the Belgravia Green.

Alia prefers to have her signature on her cars as well. She has specced the larger share of her rides with the registration number ‘1500’. The story behind this particular number remains unclear. Her Q7, Range Rover Vogue, Audi Q5, Audi A6, and BMW 7 Series get such plates.
