Anand Mahindra is often very active on social media, and he is one of those businessmen who use this platform frequently to interact with his followers and promote his brand. Mahindra has started the delivery of their EVs, and we have seen several videos of the same on the internet. Many popular personalities have also bought Mahindra’s new EV. One such person is Mr. Pawan Goenka, who was the former managing director of Mahindra and Mahindra. Anand Mahindra recently shared a video of Pawan Goenka and wrote a heartfelt note after he bought the XEV 9E.

Anand Mahindra posted the video on his X profile. He wrote this note because Mr. Pawan Goenka was one of the people behind the development of the iconic Scorpio SUV. It won’t be wrong to call him the “Father of Scorpio.” In his post, Mr. Anand Mahindra writes about how Mr. Goenka joined Mahindra and contributed to the changes and improvements in the firm.

His post said, “This is not just another video for me… When Pawan Goenka decided to return to India in the early ‘90s, leaving behind a job at General Motors, I managed to convince him to join @Mahindra_Auto at Nashik as Deputy Head of R&D. He often relates how, when he first went to Nashik and saw the R&D ‘shed’ and its rudimentary state, he began questioning his decision to come back.

However, he stayed on, and as the Head of R&D, he led the development of the Scorpio. He eventually rose to become the MD & CEO of M&M Ltd, and through his entire tenure at the company, he laid the foundations of the world-class R&D center we have today. Post his retirement, he is leading In-Space, a Department of Space company, as its Chairman and has recently been awarded a Padma Shri.

When I see Pawan and his wife, Mamta, buying one of our first electric origin SUVs, I am flooded with emotions and memories of working alongside him. I see a man who can take pride in helping propel the Indian Auto Industry into the future; I see a man endorsing and enjoying the fruits of his own labor.

So, as I said, this is not an ordinary video for me. It is a source of pride and joy.”

The video of Pawan Goenka taking delivery of his XEV 9E has been featured on our website in the past. This is probably the first time Anand Mahindra has posted online about the XEV 9E after the deliveries began. Mr. Goenka has bought the SUV in the Desert Myst shade.

XEV 9E

Mahindra has only started the delivery of the top-end variant now. The XEV 9E features a muscular yet premium-looking design at the front. In fact, Mahindra has managed to carry forward most of the design elements first seen in the concept. It looks futuristic and powerful at the same time. It is an all-new SUV developed from scratch.

It is based on Mahindra’s all-new platform, specifically developed for EVs. The front fascia features drop-down LED DRLs with a connecting LED bar.

Like most modern Mahindra vehicles, the XEV 9E is also a feature-loaded SUV. It gets premium features like three large 12.30-inch screens on the dashboard, which Mahindra calls the “Cinemascope Cockpit.” Additionally, Mahindra provides two screens for rear-seat passengers to ensure they don’t miss out on entertainment.
