Indian roads and the drama they put up can be insane. We have seen several incidents of crazy road rage and chaos being caused by angry drivers. One of the recent ones is from Bengaluru. An enraged Honda Activa rider jumped onto the bonnet of a Maruti Celerio and stamped on its windshield, in an attempt to damage the car. The Celerio made a panicky flee. The whole incident was captured on the dashcam installed on a nearby vehicle. The owner has shared the same on X (previously Twitter).

The video begins by showing a Glistening Grey Maruti Celerio rolling behind the vehicle fitted with a dashcam ( which we would now on call the ‘ camera car’). A few moments into the video, the camera car stops at a signal. The Celerio stands in front of the camera car, to its left. There are several vehicles around, including a BMTC bus, all patiently waiting for the lights to go green.
Soon a Honda Activa carrying two people arrives at the scene. It stops in front of the Celerio, blocking its way. The young pillion jumps off enraged, and rushes towards the car. The panicked Celerio driver reverses the car without a second thought- possibly a reflex. The vehicles behind him honk hard at his action, and he stops.
Furious, the Activa’s pillion jumps on the car’s bonnet, shouts and stamps hard on the windshield, apparently in an attempt to break it. We don’t know if something happened to the windshield. The driver at this point should have been way too scared. He senses danger and decides to take off. Luckily, the signal turns green and he makes a quick flee almost running the enraged scooterist over.
Now we don’t know the back story of this incident. We don’t know what the Celerio driver had done previously, to upset the scooterists so much. The two may have been involved in an incident previously, or this could be two random rogues on a scooter attacking a car. Since we lack clarity on these, we’d better not comment on who is at fault here. What we know for sure is that the incident has caused panic and inconvenience to the vehicles and people around.
A Twitter user has shared the number plates of both the car and scooter involved online and asked Bengaluru City Police to take appropriate actions against these people.
The Internet Reacts
The videos and images of this incident has sparked discussions on X. Many users are bewildered by the fact that such fearsome incidents occur in broad daylight in the city. “How come they are doing this in public so fearlessly..there are cameras in the main road signals, and they don’t seem to bother…” says one user. “We have so many cameras in addition to dashcams in Bengaluru. Clearly they don’t have fear of law” commented another.
Yet another user says that such people and incidents are common in Bengaluru these days. Unfortunately, there is no reason to disagree! Remember how a cabbie attacked a Mahindra Thar driver in the city? And how people in a Mahindra Scorpio attacked a school bus? Well there are many such instances to quote…
In response to increasing cases, the Bengaluru police previously said that they would open rowdy sheeter cases against such people.
