Bharat Benz Truck Stuck On HIghway Gets Its Engine Replaced On The Road [Video]

BharatBenz is a popular name among truck fans, and people often praise them for their products and quality service. Here we have one such video where a BharatBenz truck that broke down in the middle of a trip got its engine replaced on the road.

This is actually an interesting video because we usually see vehicles being taken to the service center to be fixed. However, in this case, the service center came to the truck.

The truck probably faced a mechanical issue during the trip, which forced them to replace the engine itself. The truck seen here in the video is BharatBenz’s 5532T, which is offered as a tractor-trailer. This means the truck can be detached from the trailer when not needed.

In this case, the truck was carrying an extremely heavy load, which is why they could not detach the trailer from the truck and attach it to a different truck. This also meant that the truck could not be towed to the service center for repairs. The only option in this case was for the service center to come to the vehicle — and that is what happened.

From the comment section, we could understand that the old engine of the truck had been completely damaged, and that is the reason why they went forward with a new engine. The technicians from BharatBenz’s Maharashtra team came to the spot, and the engine, as seen in the video, was brought to the spot on a heavy-duty crane.

The technicians took out the old engine and replaced it with a new one. The engine was removed and installed using a crane as it is extremely heavy. If the truck had been at the service center, it wouldn’t have been so difficult, as they have specialized tools and equipment to make their work easier. Since they were in the middle of nowhere, they had to come prepared with all the tools they might possibly need.

The video doesn’t show the truck moving after the engine replacement, but we are assuming that they forgot to record a video, as it is a long process. The 5532T is powered by a 7.2-litre, 6-cylinder, turbocharged engine that generates 316 PS and 1,250 Nm of peak torque at 1,200–1,600 rpm.

The engine is mated to a 10-speed manual gearbox, which includes 9 forward gears and 1 reverse. It has a fuel tank capacity of 455 litres. One of the comments even mentions that a brand-new engine alone would cost around 7.6 lakhs.
