1500 Km Roadtrip In A Battered Maruti 800 Is The Craziest Thing You’ll See [Video]

Road trip in Maruti 800

Road trips are something that excites almost everyone who loves to travel. However, most people who travel by car try to make their journeys comfortable by taking timely breaks, eating at good restaurants, or even cooking on the road. People even go on trips to the mountains to see snow. However, here we have a video of a bunch of boys who decided to take a 1,500 km road trip in a completely stripped-down Maruti 800. Were they able to complete the 1,500 km trip? Let’s check the video to find out.

The video has been shared by Experiment King on their YouTube channel. In this video, the vlogger and his friends talk about the road trip. They mention that they have gone on road trips in many of their cars in the past, but this time they wanted to do things differently. They had a completely stripped-down Maruti 800 with no doors, windshield, bonnet, or bumpers.

Five of them took the challenge to go on a 1,500 km road trip in this Maruti 800 during North Indian winters. To make things interesting, four of the people in the car wouldn’t step out of it once the trip had started. They would only put their feet on the same ground from where the trip began.

The trip started in Rajasthan, and they were driving the car toward Punjab. A funny thing to note in this video is that there was no registration number on the car. They were still freely driving the vehicle on public roads. While we saw several people reacting to the car at hotels and restaurants where they stopped for food and refreshments, not a single cop in a highway patrol vehicle stopped them.

They started their trip from a village and soon joined narrow roads. After this, the car entered the national highway. They spoke to the staff at toll plazas, who let them pass without paying. All the occupants in the car were sitting inside with blankets, caps, and helmets to protect themselves from the cold wind.

As they were doing this experiment during the winter, it was even more challenging because there was fog on the road, and visibility was pretty low. The Maruti 800 they were driving did have headlamps, but we are not sure about the tail lamps. All the seats, except the driver’s seat, were removed from the car to create more space.

After driving for a few hundred kilometers, the cameraman stepped out to get refreshments. All of them were taking turns driving every few hundred kilometers. Things got more challenging as it got dark. There were heavy vehicles passing through the same highway, so they stayed in the extreme left lane to avoid any accidents.

They even stopped at a couple of spots to ensure that their old Maruti 800—or what was left of it—didn’t overheat. By midnight, they reached the Punjab border and decided to turn the vehicle around. As dawn broke, the intensity of the fog increased. Since there was no windshield or windows in the car, the fog was falling on the dashboard and making the blankets wet.

They managed to return to their starting point after almost 24 hours, and they were all exhausted by then. Due to the extreme cold, they could only cover 1,117 km on this road trip. Driving a car without a registration number or doors on a national highway is extremely dangerous, and we do not recommend anyone attempt this.
