Brand-new Mahindra Thar Roxx Flipped Over On Its Roof: Passengers Safe [Video]

Mahindra commenced the deliveries of its new Thar Roxx just two months ago in October, and since then, we have already seen a few of these SUVs crash. Most recently, a new video has been shared online in which a white Mahindra Thar Roxx was seen completely flipped over on its roof after an accident. As per the reports, this accident took place in Hyderabad.

Mahindra Thar Roxx flipped over

The video showing a Mahindra Thar Roxx after a dangerous crash has been shared on Instagram. It comes courtesy of Safe Cars India. This particular Mahindra Thar Roxx was seen in this condition by the person recording the video. In the clip, he mentions that he was returning from his office at around 3:30 AM when he saw this Thar Roxx flipped over.

Following this, he then shows the vehicle sitting on its roof on the right side of a concrete divider. It can be noted that the front right wheel of this SUV was completely broken off. In addition to this, the front right portion, especially the suspension components, was destroyed. There is damage on the front bumper of the vehicle as well.

What we can also see is that this Mahindra Thar is a completely brand-new vehicle, and it does not even have a registration plate on it. Most likely, the owner bought it just a few days ago. As per the reports, this accident took place in Suchitra, Hyderabad, near Loyola College.

How did this Mahindra Thar Roxx flip over?

Presently, there are no reports or any CCTV footage which can show exactly how this Mahindra Thar Roxx flipped over. However, from the damage on this vehicle, what we can guess is that the vehicle must have been at a high speed when its front right wheel hit the divider.

Due to this, the wheel completely broke off, and after hitting the divider at a decent speed, the vehicle completely flipped over. We would like to reiterate that this is just an assumption, and what actually happened in this accident is unknown. As for the driver of this vehicle, the person in the video mentions that he is safe and alive.

Not the first Mahindra Thar Roxx crash

As new as the Mahindra Thar Roxx is, there are already a few that have crashed across the country. Most recently, a video of another Mahindra Thar Roxx crash was shared online. In this video as well, the exact crash was not shown. However, the condition of the vehicle after the crash was shown.

It was mentioned that this particular Mahindra Thar Roxx crashed somewhere in Gujarat. The entire front end of this vehicle was destroyed. Also, the front right side was severely damaged. Most likely, this accident took place at a high speed. As per the reports, the insurance company deemed this SUV a total loss and irreparable.

Mahindra Thar Roxx: Safety

It can be noted that although the above crashes were very severe, the occupants were safe. This is because the Mahindra Thar Roxx was recently crash-tested by Bharat NCAP, and it managed to achieve a 5-star safety rating. What’s even more impressive is that it has achieved the highest score among petrol and diesel cars sold in India.

The Thar Roxx managed to score 31.09 points out of 32 in adult occupant protection (AOP). It also scored 45 out of 49 points in the child occupant protection tests. The SUV is offered with a ton of safety features, which include six airbags, three-point seatbelts for all passengers, electronic stability control (ESC), and seatbelt reminders.

In addition to these, the top-of-the-line AX7L variant also gets ADAS Level 2. The autonomous features include automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane-keep assist, and a 360-degree surround-view system with a blind view monitor.
