Cheap Chinese Range Rover Vs Real Range Rover Compared [Video]

Real Range Rover vs fake chinese model

Automakers from China are known for producing cars that are replicas of popular cars like Rolls Royce, Land Rover, and many other luxury car brands. Most of the time, these vehicles are not actually bought for personal use. Rather, these vehicles are ordered by people to create fun videos. Recently, we came across one such video in which a $4,000, or Rs 3.4 lakh, copycat Range Rover from Alibaba was seen being compared to a Range Rover Autobiography LWB worth Rs 2.5 crore.

This video, showing the comparison of the replica Range Rover and the real SUV, has been shared on YouTube. It comes courtesy of Supercar Blondie and begins with the two hosts giving a background before they unbox this car. They highlight that this particular Range Rover replica was ordered from Alibaba.

Following this, they start removing the screws from the wooden box in which this vehicle was shipped from China to Dubai. After this, they can be seen removing the plastic covering, which reveals the complete vehicle. The hosts then start checking out all the parts of this vehicle.

After giving the introduction, both hosts start at the front of the vehicle and note that it looks very much like the real Range Rover. However, the fit and finish of this vehicle are extremely poor. Next, they line this vehicle alongside the real Range Rover. The hosts reveal that, although it costs $4,000, or Rs 3.4 lakh, with shipping, it has cost them $10,000, or Rs 8.4 lakh.

Following this, they start comparing the two SUVs. They mention that at the front, the real Range Rover gets a premium grille with air vents. However, the cheap knockoff gets a closed-off grille. The hosts also highlight that the LED headlights on the cheaper model look very similar to the real SUV; however, the quality difference is huge.

Moving on, they test the structure and strength of the cheap car, which, of course, is not even close to the real SUV. After this, they start comparing the side profiles of the two cars. They mention that the cheap car gets 14-inch alloy wheels. Meanwhile, the original model comes equipped with 22-inch wheels.

Both hosts then start showing the rear ends of the two cars. One of them states that, although the company that made the cheap knockoff Range Rover could have offered a rear-end design from an older generation model, they have tried their best to make it look as close to the original as they can.

During the walkaround, the hosts also mention that it gets a small electric motor and battery pack, which offers it a range of 90 km and a top speed of 50 kmph. Finally, after giving the exterior walkaround and comparison, the hosts show the interior of this cheap replica.

It comes with an orange interior and a big infotainment screen in the middle. This cheap SUV also gets an extremely flimsy gear shifter that any normal person will not be able to engage without breaking it completely apart. Also, the host highlights that every single element of this interior feels bad.

Drag race with real Range Rover

Finally, after showing every detail of this knockoff Range Rover, they line them up against each other for a drag race. As expected, the original Range Rover leaves this copycat model in the dust. However, what was very funny was that the Chinese Range Rover lost to the real one even when it was racing in reverse gear.
