India's 1st Rolls Royce Spectre Owner Took Delivery Of 9 Crore Super Luxury Car Wearing Sandals

The recently launched Rolls Royce Spectre Black Badge is the most expensive electric vehicle sold in India. Prior to its launch, this crown belonged to the non-Black Badge Spectre. The standard Spectre has an ex-showroom price of 7.5 Crores. Can you imagine that someone from Chennai owns not one, but two of these? Well, Baashyaam Yuvaraj of Baashyaam Constructions has two Spectres in his garage. He took delivery of the first Spectre, wearing a normal jeans, T-shirt and sandals- just like a common man!
Interestingly, Yuvaraj took delivery of India's first Spectre two months before it officially made its entry into our market. The car is finished in a shade of Wittering Blue. In a video shared online, we see him arriving at the delivery event in humble clothes.
Mostly in events such as this, we see the owners flaunt their fortunes by wearing expensive outfits and designer accessories. But here, Yuvaraj's modest outfits instantly caught the attention of netizens. Who would have imagined a billionaire to receive keys to his multi-crore Rolls Royce wearing sandals...
The second Spectre reached the Baashyam garage in October 2024. It wears the Imperial Jade colourway and was spotted driving through Chennai roads, by paparazzi.
Automobili Ardent India shared pictures of it on their Instagram handle with a caption that reads “The way Rolls-Royces sell in India despite the absurd price tags is a lesson in inelasticity of demand at the top. This is Chennai’s newest Rolls-Royces Spectre and the gentleman’s second Spectre. Since his Wittering Blue example wasn’t enough, he went and bought this one, painted in Imperial Jade, which perfectly matches his SF90 Spider which is painted Verde Medio. Truly mind boggling!”
As evident from the caption, Yuvaraj also owns a Ferrari SF90 Spider wearing Verde Medio- a unique shade of Green. It has been specced with a super-premium leather interior (Full Cuoio leather and Bianco leather) and Airbrushed Scuderia shields. It is one of the best-specced SF90s in the country.
Circling back to the second Spectre, it gets a Grace White interior and was also the fourth Spectre in Chennai, at the time of delivery. The 23-inch wheels look particularly elegant on this vehicle. In addition to these, the Baashyam garage is also said to have a Ferrari 812 Superfast, Bentley Flying Spur W12, Rolls Royce Phantom VIII SWB, Cullinan, Bentley Continental GT Speed, Bentayga V8, and a Mercedes AMG G63.
The Spectre is the first electric vehicle from Rolls Royce. It is often considered to be the spiritual successor to the Wraith and the design justifies this claim in some way. The name itself is inspired by the Rolls Royce Silver Spectre from the past.
Rolls Royce has based its first EV on the same platform used in the Ghost, Cullinan and Phantom. It comes with a 102kWh battery pack and a dual-motor setup. Each axle gets a motor. The combined output of the setup is 585hp and 900Nm.
The Spectre weighs nearly three tons but can do the 0-100 kph sprint in just 4.5 seconds. A Rolls Royce faster than this would be the Black Badge Spectre which does the run in just 4.1 seconds. It has 659 bhp and 1,075 Nm of torque on offer!
The regular Spectre claims a range of around 530 km per charge. It can charge from 10-80 percent in just 34 minutes over a 195kW charger. A 50 kW charger will take 95 minutes for the same.
