Mahindra Automotive has unveiled two of its most unique electric SUVs—the BE 6E and the XEV 9E. The reason these SUVs are unique is that they boast a number of cool features that no other Indian cars have to offer.
So, if you decide to buy either of these cars in the coming year, here are the crazy features you can show off to your friends and family.
Cars’ Lights Aligned With Music

Starting off with one of the coolest features we have only seen on American electric cars from Tesla. The front LED headlights, DRLs, and rear LED taillights all glow in sync with the music in a unique party mode. You can play any song, and the lights of both the BE 6E and XEV 9E will create an amazing light show synced to the music you are playing.
Door Tags On The BE 6E
In most Indian cars or expensive luxury cars, we get a chrome, brushed metal, or cheap plastic door handle on the inside of the car. However, taking inspiration from cars like the Porsche 911 GT3 RS, the Mahindra BE 6E comes equipped with fabric door tags to open the door, which are very distinct. These door tags can be easily pulled and add to the fighter jet cockpit appeal of the BE 6E’s cabin.
Frunk That’s Actually Functional
Being electric SUVs, both the Mahindra BE 6E and XEV 9E lack a traditional engine at the front. This means they both have a ton of space underneath the bonnet as well. This front trunk is generally referred to as a “frunk,” and both of these SUVs offer plenty of storage space.
The BE 6E’s frunk offers 45 liters of capacity, while the XEV 9E offers an impressive 150 liters of front trunk space.
Remote Self-Park
Another one of the most unique features of the Mahindra BE 6E and XEV 9E is the self-park mode. Unlike a standard parking assist feature, where the driver has to sit inside and control the accelerator and brake, in these electric SUVs, the driver can stand outside the vehicle and control its movement (in a straight line) to go forward or reverse. This unique feature is something that will instantly impress anyone you show it to.
In-car Selfie/Video Cam

Want a lovely selfie while sitting inside your Mahindra BE 6E or XEV 9E? Mahindra has got you covered. Just underneath the IRVM, the company has provided an in-built selfie as well as a video camera. So, if you buy this SUV, you can say “Cheese” with your passengers and click a picture or even take a video.
Triple Display On The XEV 9E
Currently, there are a ton of cars in the Indian market that offer dual connected screens. However, the Mahindra XEV 9E is the only car in the affordable segment to offer a massive triple-screen layout. There are three massive 12.3-inch screens spanning from one end of the dashboard to the other. There’s one for the driver (digital instrument gauge cluster), one in the center (infotainment), and one for the front passenger.
Key Slot In BE 6E
Another very unique feature you can show off to your friends and family is the location of the key slot in the BE 6E. You may be wondering how a key slot could be unique. Well, in the Mahindra BE 6E, the car key has a unique slot on the center console beside the fighter gear lever. The key almost sits flush with the console and looks very distinctive.
Infinity Glass Roof With Ambient Lighting
So far, we have seen ambient lighting in a ton of cars in India. Mostly, these lights are on the dashboard, doors, or some hidden panels. However, Mahindra is the only automaker in India to offer this feature on the glass infinity roof. Yes, you heard that right—the glass roof inside the vehicle has ambient lighting strips that glow along with all the other ambient lights inside the car.
VisionX Augmented Reality HUD
Another one of the most unique and cool features of the two SUVs is the VisionX offering. It is Mahindra’s augmented reality head-up display, which projects directions and other information on the windshield in front of the driver.
16-Speaker Harman Kardon Audio With Dolby Atmos
Mahindra has given special attention to the audio experience that both the BE 6E and XEV 9E offer to their buyers. Both SUVs get an impressive 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, which includes multiple mid-range speakers, woofers, tweeters, and a subwoofer. Both SUVs also get Dolby Atmos surround sound for a crystal-clear music-listening experience. They are first cars in India to get this unique feature.
