5 Times MS Dhoni Was Seen Driving Rare Luxury Cars

Former Indian cricket team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni is an avid car enthusiast. He has over the years, owned a bunch of tasteful, expensive and rare vehicles- motorcycles, cars and SUVs. He is interested in both modern and classic cars. Over the years, we have seen him drive various tasteful cars and SUVs.

Mercedes Benz G Class (G63 AMG)

MS Dhoni acquired the Mercedes Benz G63 AMG worth over 4 Cr, in November last year. Finished in the striking Designo Magno Night Black shade, his G Wagen gets special Gold accents. He was spotted driving the SUV into his mansion in Ranchi, Jharkhand. He was reportedly coming back from his training sessions. The G Wagen wears the registration plate reading 7, which also happens to be his favourite number. It is also his jersey number. The current generation of G63 is powered by a 4.0-litre bi-turbo V8 petrol engine, delivering 585 Bhp and 850 Nm.

Rolls Royce Silver Wraith II

Dhoni has also been spotted with a vintage Rolls Royce Silver Wraith II. It wears a unique shade of Blue. The restoration works were completed in 2021. The sedan was in production only for three years (1977 to 1980). In a video shared on YouTube, he can be seen driving the car on open roads.

The Silver Wraith has a lot in common with the Silver Shadow II, in terms of design. It, however, has a longer wheelbase and more room at the rear. Back in its day, the Silver Wraith had a massive V8 as its engine, mated to a 4-speed automatic gearbox.

Jeep Grand Cherokee TrackHawk

Back in 2019, when Jeep was having a good time in India, MS Dhoni bought the country’s first Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk. This SUV stood different from the regular Cherokee with its powertrain. Under its hood is a 6.2-litre supercharged HEMI V8 engine that makes 700 bhp and a peak torque of 875 Nm.

This is the same engine that powers the Dodge Charger Hellcat as well. The transmission on offer is an 8-speed automatic unit. With a 0-100 kph time of just 3.6 seconds, the Trackhawk was one of the fastest production SUVs back then.

Defender

The cricketer owns a vintage Land Rover Defender 110. The OG Defender used to come in three forms- 90 (short wheelbase), 110 ( standard wheelbase) and 130 ( long wheelbase). Dhoni owns an all-Black Defender 110 with Kahn X-Lander Grille (which also happens to be his second Defender). He can be seen driving it in the above video.

The vehicle has the legendary Rover V8 carburettor engine that makes 130 bhp and has a desirable exhaust sound. It gets a dual carburettor design and is essentially based on the Generation Motors Buick V8 engine design. The other Defender in the cricketer’s garage is also a 110.

Jonga

MS Dhoni has also owned a Nissan Jonga. This Jonga 1 ton belonged to the Indian army before the cricketer acquired it. Painted in a unique shade of Green, the vehicle is quite an eye candy, and has many modifications made to it to enhance livability. Videos of him driving around in the Jonga gathered a lot of views online.

Before you ask, JONGA stands for Jabalpur Ordnance and Guncarriage Assembly- and the vehicle is essentially an old-generation Patrol. The 1 Ton was primarily used by the military and finding one with civilians is thus rare. It is huge in dimensions and has an intimidating road presence. A neatly done JONGA could cost you a fortune in most marketplaces. Unconfirmed reports also say that Dhoni has sold this vehicle off and that it’s found a new owner.
