Drunk Man Takes Mahindra Thar ‘Off Roading’ On Railway Track: Panics After Goods Train Approaches [Video]

The stuff people do to get attention on social media and to grow followers/subscribers are insane. In the past few months, we have come across several such instances, where people did stupid things to make reels and finally ended up in trouble. The latest incident is from Jaipur, Rajasthan. A drunk man decided to take his Mahindra Thar off- the road. What better place to do off-roading than a railway track?

Reports say that the man was high on alcohol when he decided to do the ‘less done’! He tried to make a reel while driving on the track. He thought he had won till when the SUV got stuck on the rail.

All his attempts to take it out failed. He only knew how bumpy the ride was going to be when he saw a goods train approaching! The man got extremely scared. The loco pilot, however, saw the oncoming danger and did a ‘hard-stop’ to avoid the same.

A video of the incident is now doing rounds on the internet. It shows the man trying to get the car off the track several times, and failing. The locals and cops soon rushed to the scene and joined hands to get the Thar out. It took a lot of effort and time to finally get the job done. They managed to drag it out.

The man, however, knew what was going to befall him once he was out of the track. Sensing the danger, he swiftly reversed the Thar as soon as he was out, and continued for 20-30 meters in reverse gear.

He then fled the scene. While doing so, he hit and injured three people! In the events that followed, the police tracked and arrested him and seized the vehicle.

Driving on a railway track is a punishable offence in our country. It can lead to getting arrested and imprisoned if not attract huge sums in fines. All India Rail Safety Council has set guidelines for what to do and not to do with rails. Attempting to drive a civilian vehicle on it is considered a serious offence.

The incident sounds bizarre. It shows how clueless dumb people can cause damage to lives and public property. In this case, if it weren’t for a goods train, and if the loco pilot failed to stop it safely, things would have been different. People could have lost their lives just because someone decided to play the hero after getting drunk.

In August this year, a speeding car ran into a scooter in Kanpur, killing a woman. Her daughter, a minor at that time, sustained critical injuries.

Further investigation found out that the car was being driven by a minor who was attempting stunts with it. In July, a Tata Harrier crash in Nagpur had killed two. Three were seriously injured. Video footage showed that reckless driving had caused the accident.
