The video of the drag races between the two EV SUVs has been shared on YouTube by Harsh NCR on their channel. It starts off with the vlogger mentioning that in this series of drag races, they will be racing the Mahindra XEV 9E and the Hyundai Creta Electric against each other. Soon after this, he introduces the owners of these cars and asks them to provide the power figures of their respective SUVs.
Following this, the Hyundai Creta Electric owner highlights that his SUV is the second-to-top variant and comes with 170 bhp and can do 0–100 kmph in under 7 seconds. Next up, the Mahindra XEV 9E owner states that his vehicle is the top-of-the-line Pack Three variant, which comes with 282 bhp and does 0–100 kmph in under 5 seconds. After this brief introduction, the two EV SUVs get lined up against each other.
The vlogger, before commencing the race, asks both the XEV 9E and the Creta Electric owner to keep the vehicles in normal mode and turn off the traction control system. Additionally, he also asks both drivers to turn off the air conditioning system as well. After this, both vehicles get lined up against each other on the start line, and the vlogger mentions that on the third honk, they have to launch their SUVs.
Soon after this, the first drag race commences, and we can note that instantly, the Mahindra XEV 9E was able to take the lead of the race. Also, the gap that it was able to create from the Creta Electric was significant. He then declares that the first round was won by the XEV 9E in a clear way. After this, they once again line up these SUVs, and this time around, they keep the traction control and air conditioning systems turned off.
However, they engage the Sport mode in the Creta Electric and Race mode in the XEV 9E. Following this, on the third honk, the second round started, and this time again, the XEV 9E was able to drive away from the Creta Electric. Once again, the gap between the two electric SUVs was significant. They then again reach the start line and commence the third round with the same setup.
This time, however, the XEV 9E owner launches the vehicle slightly late, and the Creta Electric was able to lead the race in the beginning. But towards the end of this race, the XEV 9E was able to overtake the Creta Electric. Finally, they race for the last time, with the vlogger taking the Creta Electric’s steering wheel. However, once again, the XEV 9E embarrasses the Creta Electric.
The Mahindra XEV 9E was able to win the races so easily because of the sheer power it offers. This SUV comes with an electric motor that is capable of producing 282 bhp and 380 Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the Creta Electric, in its top-of-the-line variant, gets 171 bhp and 255 Nm of torque.
