Supercar ownership in India has been on the rise, and brands like Lamborghini have become extremely popular among enthusiasts. Reports of supercars being involved in accidents also frequently make headlines. Some of these cars even catch fire, often raising questions about the build quality and reliability of these vehicles. Here, we have one such video of a Lamborghini that caught fire on Mumbai’s coastal road.

The video has been shared by Gautam Singhania. He has been critical of the Italian supercar brand for some time, and the video he shared online was actually captured by him. The billionaire businessman, who is also a car enthusiast, posted the video with a caption:
“Spotted by me: A Lamborghini engulfed in flames on Coastal Road, Mumbai. Incidents like this raise serious concerns about the reliability and safety standards of Lamborghini. For the price and reputation, one expects uncompromising quality—not potential hazards.”

In the video, we see a Lamborghini Huracán with smoke coming out from the rear of the vehicle. The car was spotted on Mumbai’s coastal road, and we assume that the owner noticed something unusual about the car, prompting them to stop and inspect it. The owner was standing next to the car with a fire extinguisher, but it didn’t seem to have worked.

Towards the end of the video, we also see flames at the rear of the car. A fire had broken out in the engine bay of the Lamborghini. We hope the owner managed to contain the fire before the car was completely destroyed. This is not the first time we have seen a supercar catching fire. There are several reasons why such incidents might happen.

One of them is overheating. The car seen here has its engine mounted at the rear. Owners often rev the car hard at traffic signals, leading to overheating, which can melt the plastic and fiber parts. These melted parts can fall onto the hot engine components and pipes, potentially causing a fire. Electrical issues and short circuits are also common causes of such incidents.

In this particular case, we are not sure what started the fire. As mentioned above, Mr. Singhania has been critical of Lamborghini for quite some time. It all began after he test-drove a brand-new Lamborghini Revuelto supercar. The test car reportedly faced some electrical issues and broke down on the Atal Setu.

He mentioned in his tweet that he has heard from multiple people about issues they are facing with Lamborghini cars. Lamborghini did not respond in this case, which made Mr. Singhania even more frustrated.

In another post, he expressed shock at the arrogant attitude of Lamborghini India’s management and noted that no one from the team had reached out to him or the customers to investigate the reported issues.

The recently posted fire video further reveals his attitude toward the Italian brand. Gautam Singhania is likely to continue posting criticisms of Lamborghini until he receives a response from the brand. Even in this case, we are yet to hear an official statement from Lamborghini.
