Dad And Son In 'Humble Clothes' Take Delivery Of Lamborghini Sterrato: Internet Goes Crazy

It isn't unusual to find supercar delivery videos and images that are loud about the buyer's wealth. They often show the customers in expensive outfits, wearing luxurious accessories, trying to look their best and flaunt their fortunes. Usually such events are organized at the dealership or the vehicle gets delivered in an even more luxurious private event at some hotel or resort.
However, a Lamborghini Sterrato delivery that happened in Bengaluru in January this year, broke all such stereotypes! The customer took delivery of the multi-crore supercar, with his family, all of them wearing modest clothes and at their home. No luxury outfits, no private events, no showboating!
The family that took delivery is from Bengaluru. The supercar has a last-recorded price of Rs 5.44 Crores. Usually, people buying cars so expensive splurge on making the delivery a memorable and luxurious one, something that speaks of their fortunes.
But surprisingly, this delivery did not have any over-the-top fanfare. Here, the owner, his son, and other family members appeared in simple, everyday clothes.
In a picture shared by Lamborghini Bengaluru, the father and son can be seen accepting the keys from the dealer staff. They are seen joyous and confident.
A key takeaway is that every family will have its own way of celebrating personal goals and milestones, and it may not always be loud and pompous. These are to be respected.
The photograph quickly went viral on social media because it was so different from the other supercar deliveries that we see. Most comments were in favour of the family and appreciated them for being so humble even while buying a supercar...
Another interesting thing is the venue. Instead of visiting the showroom or hosting it at a luxury resort, this owner decided to have the supercar delivered to his doorstep.
The family purchased the car from Lamborghini Bengaluru, the only dealership of the Italian manufacturer in South India. This particular car has the Bianco Monocerus colourway.
The Lamborghini Sterrato is an iteration of the Huracan which was introduced globally in 2022. Deliveries started in the third quarter of 2023- almost a year after the global premiere. Lamborghini would make only 1,499 units of these, and at the time of writing this article, all units have found takers and the model has been discontinued.
Unlike the regular Huracan or other supercars, the Sterrato is built to go off-road. It stands higher than the regular Huracan. The ground clearance has gone up by 44 mm. The front and rear tracks are now wide. The front is now wider by 30 mm and the rear by 34 mm.
To make it more rugged, Lamborghini has given the Sterrato an Aluminum front underbody, reinforced sills, roof-mounted air intakes, chunky fender flares and side skirts, two auxiliary LED lights at the front, and a revised diffuser.
It comes with the supercar maker's updated LDVI (Lamborghini Integrated Vehicle Dynamics), which has a new Rally Mode, along with recalibrated Strada and Sport Modes. The Sterrato rides on 19-inch alloy wheels wrapped in all-terrain tyres.
It is powered by the same 5.2-liter V10 engine as the standard Huracan. It has been tuned to produce 610 PS and 560 Nm of torque, slightly less than the standard Huracan, and sends power to all four wheels through a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.
Despite its off-road focus, the Sterrato is lightning-quick. It can hit 0-100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and has a top speed of 260 km/h. It is slightly slower than the Huracan EVO RWD which takes just 3.3 seconds for the same. Whether to go with its regular version or to opt for the rally-going supercar is a confusion which the wealthy would enjoy facing.
