Hyundai Venue T-Bones Creta On An Intersection: Who’s At Fault? [Video]

One of the biggest issues on Indian public roads is that people drive on them without paying complete attention. Due to this lack of attentiveness, they make turns without looking, and when such turns are made at intersections, it can cause horrific T-bone accidents. Recently, showing one such T-bone accident, a video has been shared online. In this clip, a speeding Hyundai Venue crashes into a Hyundai Creta, which made an abrupt U-turn on a highway.

This video, showing the entire accident involving the Hyundai Creta and Venue, has been shared on YouTube. It comes courtesy of Nikhil Rana, and he has mentioned that it was shared from Gujarat. It starts with the Hyundai Creta making a turn on the highway. At the same time, we can note that a Hyundai Venue was coming from the other side.

Unfortunately, as the speed of the Venue was slightly higher, the brakes could not be applied on time. We can observe that the Venue driver did try to turn the steering wheel to the left. However, this is exactly where the Creta driver was heading.

As a result, the Venue crashed into the Creta, which made the abrupt turn without even noticing the incoming car. Following the crash, both cars came towards the pole on which the CCTV camera was placed. We can note this was due to the direct impact of the two cars.

Was everyone safe?

As per the video, there is no information on whether anyone suffered any serious injury. However, from the video, we can note that the airbags of the Venue were deployed. Also, most likely, as the pillars of both cars were intact, the passengers would not have suffered injuries.

Aftermath of this accident

Following the accident footage, the video shows the aftermath. It first shows the Hyundai Venue. We can note that the entire front end of this car was destroyed, and all the airbags of this SUV were deployed. We can also see that the front grille, bumper, and other parts of this SUV were scattered on the road.

Soon after this, the video shows the Hyundai Creta involved in this accident as well. It can be observed that the left side and rear of the car have suffered extreme damage. The rear bumper has come off, and the right wheels and tires have been destroyed due to the impact.

Who was at fault?

The majority of the blame for this T-bone accident can be attributed to the careless Hyundai Creta driver. We can note that the SUV driver was not paying attention to the road and crossed it without even looking at the other side. Had the driver looked to the left, he could have easily spotted the incoming Venue.

However, due to hastiness, he did not wait and check, which resulted in this horrible accident. It has to be mentioned that although the majority of the fault lies with the Creta driver, the Venue driver is also to be blamed for driving the car at high speed, especially at an intersection.

Be careful at intersections

From this accident, the main takeaway is that drivers should always be careful at intersections. Even if someone is driving on a national highway, they should make sure to slow down the vehicle at such spots to be able to take evasive action in case careless drivers, like this Creta driver, act abruptly.
