Indian Army's Toyota Fortuners With Jammers Spotted In Jammu And Kashmir [Video]

We all know about the sad news regarding the terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam. Twenty-six innocent people, who were tourists, lost their lives in this attack. The government has condemned the attack and has announced that they'll take strict action against the people behind it. At a time like this, the Indian Army and border forces have also tightened security across the border. We have now been seeing a new video circulating on social media where Indian Army’s Toyota Fortuners with jammers are seen on their way to Jammu and Kashmir.
The video has been shared by several social media users. The one seen here was posted by a Facebook page, IADN Center. In this video, we see three Toyota Fortuner SUVs being driven on an Indian highway. One of the videos online claims that these SUVs were spotted in Jammu and Kashmir, where recent terrorist attacks were reported.
However, there is no way we can confirm the same. The Facebook post mentions that the SUVs belong to the Signals Corps of the Indian Army, and these are not your regular Fortuners. These are Fortuners mounted with satellite communication systems. The post claims that these vehicles are used to boost real-time communication for the force during difficult situations.
The Indian Army Corps of Signals is a corps and a combat support arm of the Indian Army, which handles its military communications. It was formed on 15 February 1911 as a separate entity under Lieutenant Colonel S. H. Powell and went on to make important contributions to World War I and World War II.
The Toyota Fortuner SUVs seen here on the road are finished in a matte green shade. It is similar to the green shade that we have seen on other official Army vehicles. There is a large satellite dish placed on the roof of the vehicle, and the interiors have probably been completely stripped down to make space for the communication equipment.
All three Toyota Fortuners were moving together and maintaining the same speed. They had their hazard lamps turned on, and we didn’t see any registration numbers on the cars either. This is not the first time we are seeing Toyota Fortuners with satellite dishes on the road. Videos of these SUVs have been online for quite some time. We have seen videos where men were seen driving the car into a trailer. We even had a video where we got a glimpse of the garage where work on this project was ongoing.
We still cannot assure that these vehicles are headed to Jammu and Kashmir or if they are even being used by the Indian Army. There was an official press release from Toyota stating that they have added a number of Toyota Hilux pickup trucks to the force. However, we didn’t hear anything about the Fortuner.
These Toyota Hilux vehicles have been specifically designed for use by the Indian Army. The modified versions of the Hilux are named the Field Diagnosis Vehicle (FDV) and the Rapid Intervention Vehicle (RIV).
If the Fortuners seen here belong to the Army, then we are assuming that they have opted for the 4x4 variant, as these vehicles will be driven on a variety of terrains.
