Indian businessman Saurabh Ahuja recently made headlines by buying a McLaren Artura in a bespoke Green shade. The Detailing Devils founder is an ardent admirer of fast cars, and has an expensive garage. In a recent interview with the YouTube channel ‘Her Garage‘, he went vocal about his new McLaren and explained why he did not buy the Ferrari he had previously stated he would. Apparently, the young Indian entrepreneur refrained from investing in a Ferrari 296 GTB because he felt disrespected by the group who was involved in the purchase- deal.
The CEO doesn’t say the name of the dealer who mistreated him. However, he says that he had to face a lazy, disrespectful and low-spirited attitude from them. Saurabh says they made him waste his time for no good cause.
This communication gap and laid-back approach by the sales team made him drop the plan to purchase the car from them. He further says that Ferrari Mumbai had contacted him and that he would be visiting the dealer for the delivery event of his friend’s SF90. Thus, chances are there that he might get the GTB from them.
Ferrari is known for vetting customers
In a standalone context, Ferrari is a brand that has a strict set criteria for choosing who gets to own their products. The company is particular about ensuring that the owner keeps the car for a long time and doesn’t sell it off soon.
The reputation and background of the customer also matter to the brand. In this case, the Indian CEO ticks all the boxes for the brand and it is just the dealer that developed the ‘communication gap’ with him.
Saurabh Ahuja has specced his Artura quite tastefully. It wears a bespoke MSO Green paint that resembles British Racing Green and costs 45 lakh rupees. The 19-inch wheels are finished in Gunmetal Grey colour.
The car itself costs around 6 Cr. It also attracted heavy sums in insurance, road tax and other expenses. The CEO has also specced it with adaptive LED headlamps (worth around 13 lakh), a 360-degree camera, better-looking alloy wheels (12 lakh) and an interior package worth 9 lakh.

The Artura is a plug-in hybrid high-performance sportscar. It is powered by a 3.0-litre, twin-turbo V6 engine mated to a series hybrid assist. The IC engine can generate 577 bhp and 584 Nm. The electric (hybrid) section brings another 94 bhp and 225 Nm to the table. The combined output stands at 671 bhp and 804 Nm. 0-100 kph is done in just 3 seconds. Interestingly, the electric motor is used for reversing the vehicle.
The car gets 19-inch front wheels and 20-inch rear wheels, both wearing Pirelli P Zero rubber. The ground. clearance is just 93 mm. But the car gets a liftable suspension so that you don’t end up scratching the underb0dy every other time. The vehicle also comes with scissor doors, which offer soft closing.
On the inside, Saurabh has opted for 750W signature series music system from Bowers and Wilkins, a Tech luxe interior which combines Nappa and Alcantara. The piping comes in a Teal Blue colour. The car also has 6-way electrically adjustable ‘comfort seats’ (worth 6-7 lakh), instead of sports seats.
An interesting detail on the inside is the instrument cluster that moves with the steering wheel when you adjust the reach and rake. These adjustments are done electrically. The car also gets a printed antenna.
In addition to the Artura, the Detailing Devils founder also owns a black Mercedes-Benz GLC 43 AMG, Santorini Black Range Rover Sport, and Kia EV6 GT. The CEO also says he could consider buying a Rolls Royce Cullinan or Spectre soon.
