Bollywood actor and producer John Abraham surprised his dad by gifting him a brand new Mahindra XUV 3XO on his birthday. The SUV wears the Stealth Black paint, which John says is his favourite. It was bought from NBS Mahindra, a Mumbai-based dealer. In a video posted on the official YouTube channel of 3XO, John can be seen sharing his joy on the new buy. He shares his purchase experience and initial impressions of the SUV. “Fantastic engine, very responsive. This is probably the best gift I can give him.”- remarks a happy John.
The XUV 3XO has three engine options on offer- 1.2L, 3-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol, 1.2L, 3-cylinder, turbocharged petrol, and 1.5L diesel. The celeb has opted for the 1.2 TGDi turbo-petrol engine, as it is known for its strong performance and heartwarming output figures.
This is not the first time that the actor has been in the news for his expensive gifts. In 2012, he gifted a brand new Audi Q3 SUV to his sister-in-law. The car was officially handed over by Michael Perschke, the head of Audi India, to John, who then presented it to Anca in the presence of his brother, Alan Abraham. The SUV was powered by a 2.0-litre diesel engine producing 177 hp and 380 Nm.
Back then, Audi India’s marketing was strong and used Bollywood A-list celebs to properly establish their brand image and products in the Indian market. John himself has owned a Q7 for a long time. The actor also has the track of having been the face of Audi in India.
John, however, seems to be leading a less-expensive (car) life lately. His daily is a modified Isuzu D Maz V Cross pickup truck. The actor is often spotted driving around in the Black V-Cross. If reports are to be believed, he continues to keep the White Maruti Jipsy. It has been with him for over a decade now.
In a recent episode of Ranveer Allahbadia’s podcast, The Ranveer Show, John explained why he doesn’t own expensive cars today. He says that his office and home are hardly a kilometre away from each other. In such a case, a 3-4 crore car would be an unnecessary expense. It will rather be a depreciating asset, which he finds an unwise decision these days…
This doesn’t mean that John has never owned expensive cars. He has, in fact, had some seriously expensive garage in the past. Over the years, he has owned several expensive, binge-worthy cars and SUVs. He served as Nissan India’s brand ambassador and has owned 2 GTRs (one of which is the Black edition) and a Terrano over the years. Other notable cars and SUVs we have seen him with over the years are a Black Lamborghini Gallardo (rumour has it that it was replaced by the GTR ), Porsche Cayenne Turbo, Audi Q7, Land Cruiser Prado, and a Tata Sierra. He definitely has a thing for SUVs!
Forget cars, but John has a very expensive superbike collection. Being a hardcore biker, he owns a bunch of powerful, drool-worthy superbikes, classics and custom builds. To name a few are Aprilia RSV4 RF, Yamaha V-Max, Yamaha R1, RD 350, YZF R1, Ducati Panigale V4, Rajputana Customs Lightfoot, Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R, MV Agusta F3 800, Honda CBR 1000 RR, Suzuki GSX-R1000, Kawasaki ZX11-D2 (his very first superbike), Ducati Diavel etc.
The newest in his superbike garage is the Aprilia RSV4 1100 Factory Ultra Dark. In May this year, he was roped in as Aprilia’s brand ambassador in India, following which the actor added the new Aprilia RS 457 to his collection. A couple of weeks ago, Shah Rukh Khan gifted him a brand-new Hayabusa.
