Kia Syros was officially unveiled last month, and it is a one-of-a-kind product from the South Korean car brand. The Syros sits right between the Sonet and the Seltos. Kia has already started accepting bookings for the Syros, and it looks like the upcoming SUV has started reaching dealerships as well. We have seen several walkaround videos of the top-end variant of the Syros. However, here we have a video that shows what the HTK (O) variant, which is the second-from-base variant, offers.
The video has been shared by GS Auto Motives on their YouTube channel. In this video, the vlogger gives us a detailed walkaround of the HTK (O) variant of the Syros SUV. The Kia Syros is available with both petrol and diesel engine options, and usually, the lower versions of a car are not very well equipped in terms of features. However, that is not the case with the Kia Syros.
The SUV offers features like 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP, Hill Start Assist, Emergency Stop Signal, Rear Parking Sensors and Camera, Front Parking Sensors, and 3-point seat belts for all 5 passengers as standard across all variants. The SUV gets a very unique exterior design. It has a rounded design with sleek black elements breaking the line between the bumper and the bonnet.
The headlamps are placed on the bumper, and the usual tiger-nose grille is missing here. It has a closed grille with a split lower air dam on the lower part of the bumper. The HTK (O) variant includes parking sensors, a silver-colored faux skid plate, halogen projector headlamps, LED DRLs, and halogen turn indicators.
Coming to the side profile, the boxiness of the Syros is more evident here. We see squared-off wheel arches with thick claddings around them. The petrol version gets 15-inch steel rims with blacked-out wheel covers. The diesel version, on the other hand, gets 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels with a very unique design.

There are thick claddings all around the car that give it a chunky look. It also features electrically adjustable ORVMs with integrated turn indicators, roof rails, flush door handles, and large windows for both driver and rear-seat passengers. The SUV also includes an integrated roof spoiler. The LED light elements on the left and right sides of the rear windshield do not glow in this variant.
The tail lamps are a combination of LED and halogen lights. The shark fin antenna, silver skid plates, and Syros badging can also be seen on the HTK (O) variant.
Just like the exterior, Kia is offering a variety of options for the interior as well. The HTK (O) variant gets a remote central locking system. It also offers manual window curtains for the rear seats. The rear seats remain extremely spacious with ample under-thigh support and headroom. The rear passengers also get dedicated AC vents and Type-C USB chargers. The seats use fabric covers.
At the front, the SUV features a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a layered dashboard with multiple color options, and a twin-spoke steering wheel that looks extremely large with a slightly flat bottom and top. There are power window switches for all four doors, a digital instrument cluster, a manual dimming IRVM, physical buttons for the infotainment system and climate control, brushed aluminum finishes on the doors, and more.
The HTK (O) variant is available with both petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol version uses a 1.0-liter, 3-cylinder turbocharged engine that generates 120 PS and 172 Nm of peak torque. The diesel version uses a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine that generates 115 PS and 250 Nm of peak torque. The petrol variant is available with manual and DCT gearbox options, while the diesel gets manual and 6-speed automatic transmission options.
