Defender crashes into Kia Carens

Careless driving is a major cause of most accidents on Indian roads. We come across videos and images of car crashes from different parts of the country almost every day. Usually, we see mass-segment cars get into such crashes, but there are instances when luxury cars and SUVs are also involved. Here we have one such video where a Land Rover Defender SUV, worth crores, crashed into a Kia Carens MPV from the rear. Check out the video below to see how the Land Rover Defender performed.

The video has been shared by Piyush on his Instagram page. It looks like the accident happened somewhere in Rajasthan or Punjab. The exact cause of this accident is not known, but from the video that has surfaced online, it looks like the Land Rover Defender rear-ended the Kia Carens.

We are not sure if the Defender was being driven rashly or if the Kia Carens had applied sudden brakes after spotting an obstacle on the road. Whatever the reason, the Defender crashed and damaged the rear of the Kia Carens. It looks like the rear bumper, tail lamp, and tailgate of the Carens are damaged in the crash.

The Defender, on the other hand, suffered more damage than the Carens. The front grille, bonnet, headlamps, and bumper of the SUV are damaged. When compared to the Carens, repairing the Defender is going to be much more expensive. While the front of the SUV looks damaged, the SUV is still in a drivable condition.

The Defender managed to perform quite well in this crash. Despite losing fluids, the SUV is in working condition. In a crash like this, we usually see the front of the vehicle get badly damaged, and the vehicle is usually transported to the service center on a flatbed.

However, in this case, it looks like the SUV is still drivable. We do not recommend anyone drive a vehicle that has been involved in a crash, though.

After a crash, the chances of developing mechanical issues are pretty high. It is always a good idea to take the vehicle to the workshop on a tow truck or flatbed and get it inspected thoroughly. Once you have fixed the issues and repaired the damages, your vehicle is fit to drive on the road.

Driving a damaged vehicle on a public road is not only a risk to the driver but also to other road users. The chances of the vehicle getting involved in another accident due to these issues cannot be ruled out in such cases. If you want to avoid such situations, be careful and always maintain a safe distance from the vehicle in front of you.

Always drive within the speed limits, as this would also ensure that the driver has enough time to stop or spot an obstacle that could potentially lead to an accident. We really hope the occupants in both the Land Rover Defender and the Kia Carens are safe and have not suffered any major injuries.
