Mahindra launched the new Electric Origin SUVs- the BE6 and XEV 9e in November 2024. Of these, the BE6 has risen to be the internet sensation and in the real world, the crowd puller. The deliveries began in mid-March 2025. Now, a user has come up with detailed impressions on usability and range figures after having used it for over 10,000 km. A video shared on the channel ' Walk With Neff', we get to listen to this owner.

The owner here, is an entrepreneur who is based in the hospitality sector. He thus travels a lot, and covered 10,000 km with the BE 6 in just one month of ownership. He even did a Kochi-to-Kashmir road trip with the vehicle, soon after taking the delivery.

This BE 6 owner reports that the vehicle delivered a real-world range of 400-410 km per charge during the road trip that spanned over 8,600 km. During the journey, the vehicle was driven in the ' Default' driving mode alone. Mahindra offers four driving modes on the BE 6- Default, Range, Everyday, and Race. He continues to say that in the days that followed, the SUV returned up to 520 km in range, after the first service was done.

If we were to comment, maximising the range would take more than just switching to the 'Range' mode or driving with a light foot. Factors like the road and traffic around, driving nature, tyre pressure etc also have roles to play in ensuring high range figures. The more you drive in tight city traffic and stay away from fast highway runs, the higher the range!

The owner further says that the first service which happened at 2000 km, and the second which commenced at 10,000 km were both very affordable. He says that Mahindra doesn't charge labour fee for these. For the most recent service, he had to spend just under Rs 3,000. He also reports to have experienced various minor glitches and bugs in the first 10,000 kilometres of ownership. These are, in fact, common pain points for BE 6 and XEV 9e owners.

Talking about comfort, this owner doesn't have any complaints at all, and is instead, quite happy with the comfort offered by the seats, design and the ride quality at large. To thank here, is the semi-active setup on the BE 6.

The electric SUV comes with a suspension setup that adapts to ensure a fine balance between ride comfort and handling at all times. The ride is set slightly on the firmer side, but would never unsettle you or make your uncomfortable. It feels smooth and comfortable on smooth roads, and quite comfortable even on uneven patches.

Mahindra has given the BE 6 a multi-link rear suspension, MacPherson strut at the front, adaptive dampers, and various other modern technology like Monroe Intelligent Suspension CVSAe.

The carmaker has packed the BE 6 with technologies and features. You get everything from automatic parking, 'summon' and a full-blown ADAS suite which even comes with animal detection! This user, like most others, seem to be overwhelmed by the tech-load, and doesn't seem to get enough opportunities to use all of them regularly!

Looking at the mechanical front, the BE6 is based on Mahindra's newly developed INGLO platform. Two battery packs are being offered- 59kWh and 79 kWh. This user seems to have opted for the 79 kWh unit (Pack THREE variant).

The electric motor sits on the rear axle and produces 286hp and 380 Nm of torque! Mahindra claims a range of 682km per charge on this battery pack, and this user has now proved the real-world range to be around 520 km (and 400 odd kilometers with spirited and enthusiastic driving)
