Biker & Elderly Mom Fall After Mahindra Thar Driver Aggressively Fords Through Water [Video]
Many parts of the country are now receiving unprecedented rainfall. Flooding has caused massive destruction and public inconvenience in many areas. Commuting through waterlogged areas can be very challenging, especially for two-wheeler riders. A recent video that has surfaced on social media proves the same to be true.
It shows a motorcycle trying to travel through a flooded road. A man is riding it with his elderly mother as the pillion. There is enough water to get both of its wheels completely submerged. The man struggles to wade through the water safely.
He, in fact, has to keep his balance, keep the engine running and prevent any possible stalls, keep it moving and also keep the pillion safe throughout the process. The guy is seen doing all these carefully. Shocking both of them, a Black Mahindra Thar soon comes towards them. It is seen approaching them with a decent speed.
The Thar is seen fording roughly through the water. The driver, however, doesn't seem to be using the right technique in doing so. Water is seen splashing onto the SUV's bonnet. There is no clean bow wave in front of the Thar either.
The driver here, is likely overspeeding. The momentum seems to be unsettling the water around. Ideally, he should have moved a lot slower, and with much more precision. He should have had a solid bow wave in front instead of massive loose currents that we see in this case. Mastering this 'ideal speed' requires a lot of skill and experience.
The Thar driver doesn't slow down even after seeing the motorcycle. As it drives past the bike, the huge waves it created lash into the motorcycle, knocking it down. The driver doesn't stop or care to help. He just drives away.
Both the rider and his elderly mother fall into the water. Both of them somehow manage to get up. They are seen staring at the Thar which has already fled the scene. The lady had a carry bag in her hand. It gets drenched in the water around. The video shows her checking it out after the incident, and getting disappointed. The rider is seen frustrated by the accident.
The video has been going viral on various social media platforms. A lot of people have been commenting their views on the same. The Thar driver received sharp criticism for his insensitive (and inhuman) behaviour. Some even attribute it to the general bad reputation that some Thar drivers have set for themselves.

From jumping across medians to ramming people with their 1.8 tonne SUV, some Thar drivers have made themselves infamous for a slew of crimes. An incident from Rajasthan had the cops of the place chasing down two Thars for allegedly trying to run over people who were playing cricket nearby.
Another incident is from Noida’s Sector 53. A video that surfaced online showed a man hitting a guy with his Black Mahindra Thar, with a clear intention to kill. The impact threw the guy into a nearby drain.
He took severe injuries in the incident but was thankfully given medical attention soon after it. The entire act was captured on video, which later served as solid evidence against the offender.
The cops soon tracked the Thar driver and charged him with rash and negligent driving and causing hurt and criminal intimidation. The fact that this cruelty occurred in broad daylight got many concerned about the law and order system of the place and the safety it claims to offer.
