No, we don’t mean to belittle people who use humble cars. But it is a common practice that people upgrade their vehicles with fluctuations in their economic status and the larger society often looks up to it. Things get really gripping when the upgrade is from a humble car to a super-expensive one. In a recent incident, someone made an entrance in an age-old Chevrolet Tavera to take delivery of a Mercedes Benz GLS 400d!

The delivery took place at Motorwagon, a used car dealership in Calicut, Kerala. A video shared by the dealer shows the customer- Sreejith arriving at the facility in a White Chevrolet Tavera MPV. The vehicle is definitely old, and doesn’t command any attention as such. He has come with his family and all of them walk into Motorwagon’s showroom.
Sreejith is further seen completing the paperwork and other formalities of the purchase, and unveiling the vehicle. This GLS 400d is a pre-facelift model, finished in all Black. It sure would make one say ‘The man’s got taste’ about its owner. Almost all Chrome bits on the exterior have been blacked out and the vehicle has a menacing look.
Mercedes Benz started manufacturing the GLS 400d in 2020, and the full-size SUV got a notable facelift in 2023. Internally called the X167, this is the third generation of the SUV globally. It is powered by an inline-6 turbocharged diesel engine (OM 656 D 29 R SCR) that is mated to a 48V Mild Hybrid (EQ Boost) technology. This setup is capable of producing 330 hp and 700 Nm.
Together with the 9-speed automatic transmission, this engine can make the SUV sprint to 100 kph in just 6.3 seconds- quite fast for its size and weight.
It is unclear if the Tavera is Sreejith’s primary/only car or if he possesses other vehicles too, and used it to go loud about his career journey and success. Making a humble entry for a luxury car purchase is now becoming increasingly popular on social media, and this could be one such stunt. We also don’t know much about his job or business background. The video, however, felt so satisfying to watch.
Netizens too seem to have liked it. They have been flooding the reel with comments- mostly admiration and appreciation of the man’s work and life progress. The transformation has created a lot of fans for sure.
