People prefer their cars to always look clean and shiny. They often splurge money on expensive car cleaning products like shampoos, waxes and more. Usually, people who own expensive cars rely on premium (read expensive) car washes to keep their paints healthy. They even hesitate to touch the paint with anything other than an extremely soft microfibre cloth. In contrast, a recent incident shows a Lamborghini Huracan parked somewhere in Bengaluru being cleaned using a bucket of water and some random cloth by a man. A video of the same has sparked discussions online.

The video shows a Lamborghini Huracan parked somewhere in Bengaluru. It has what looks like the Arancio Borealis (Orange) colourway and also has a Carbon Fiber spoiler at the rear. The man is seen washing the supercar with a cloth and a bucket of water- in a very ‘casual’ way- as if it was just another day at work.
Now, there are a few things to say here. In Bengaluru, it is common to find people who would clean your ride while they are parked outside or in the parking. They would give the vehicle a quick wash. This will rinse off dirt and dust. The charges for such washes are significantly less than what they would charge at a professional wash-hub.
Since these people mostly refrain from using premium microfibre cloths, these washes could leave hairline scratches on the paint. On a multi-crore vehicle like the Huracan, these scratches could cost a lot to fix.
Plus, for enthusiasts, it feels almost heartbreaking to see them. We don’t know if in this case, the cleaning caused hairline scratches or not. If the car has some sort of paint protection done to it, such washing wouldn’t cause much damage to the paint.
The video has sparked active discussions online. Many comments show sheer surprise that the owner let the guy do this to his car. An interesting comment reads ‘ Casual cleaning the Lambo’. Another user commented ‘Just average things in Bangalore’.
The Huracan has a base price of over 4 crores in India. It is powered by the same 5.2-litre naturally aspirated Audi/Lamborghini V10 engine as the facelifted Gallardo, capable of producing 610 PS. Lamborghini sells four different iterations of the Huracan in India- the EVO Spyder, STO, Tecnica and Sterrato. The engine’s state of tune and several other mechanical parameters differ between these.
The Sterrato could be the most unique member of the Huracan family. It could be called the rally-going Huracan which gets a high ground clearance and several other features. The car here seems to be the EVO coupe.

In an unpleasant incident, another Orange Lamborghini was involved in a fire incident in Mumbai recently. The owner was driving around at night when he saw fumes coming from the engine bay. He soon pulled over and tried to bust the fumes with a fire extinguisher.
His tries went in vain when a fire broke out which soon charred most parts of the engine bay. A video of the same went viral, later. Raymond bossman Gautam Singhania took to social media to describe the incident and blame Lamborghini for compromising on quality. However, another video showed the burnt car being ‘driven’ onto the flatbed.
The exact cause of this fire remains unknown. Some reports say it could be because of the owner revving it hard at signals and stops. We don’t have clear information on the cause yet.
