Now, where most people sell their old luxury cars to buy a new one, there are some that are doing something different. These people are getting their vehicles facelifted from aftermarket shops and saving a ton of money. Recently, a video of India’s first Mercedes-Benz GL 350 to Maybach GLS 600 conversion has been shared online.

It is known for facelifting a ton of popular models like the Toyota Fortuner, Innova, and others. They have now even started facelifting luxury cars as well.

Mercedes-Benz GL 350 to Maybach GLS 600

Their latest video is one of the most unique ones to date. In this video, the owner of the shop announces that they will be converting this previous generation Mercedes-Benz GL 350 into the latest generation Maybach GLS 600 luxury SUV. He stated that this is the first time ever that this is being done in India.

Following this, he explains the reason behind this conversion. The owner of the shop states that this GL 350, which at the time of launch used to cost Rs 1.5 crore, now, even in its pristine condition, will not fetch more than Rs 30-40 lakh, and the new Maybach GLS 600 costs Rs 3.35 crore.

So, instead of selling this car for such a low price and investing a ton more money in buying a new car, the owner of this particular GL 350 has decided to convert it into a Maybach GLS 600. Following this introduction, the owner of the shop then explains what they will be changing.

He states that they will first be changing the front fenders, front grille, LED headlights, front bumper, and bonnet. He adds that they have also imported forged multispoke Maybach alloy wheels as well. As for the rear, he explains that they will be changing the outer skin of the tailgate and also changing the LED taillights.

Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 Conversion

Following the explanation, the video then shows the car getting completely disassembled. The expert technicians can be seen carefully removing all the body parts. After this, they start test-fitting all the panels and electrical components to make sure that nothing is damaged.

The owner of the shop mentions that the LED headlights and taillights they have imported come with the plug-and-play feature. He states that all of these components utilize the same ECM so that no error codes are shown in the car after they have been fitted.

Following this, the vehicle then goes into the paint booth. Finally, after the painting process is finished, the car goes into final assembly. After this, the owner of the shop gives a walkaround of the car and shows all the changes made by them. He starts by showing the exterior of the car, after which he then shows the interior.

He states that they have added the new Maybach GLS 600 steering wheel. The owner of the shop adds that they had to specially import this steering wheel. Lastly, he concludes by stating that they are hoping to work on more GLS 600 Maybach conversions in the future.
