The MG Windsor EV is currently one of the best-selling electric vehicles in India. Last month, in December, MG dispatched a total of 3,785 units. This unique EV has managed to lure in many traditional ICE vehicle buyers due to its affordable pricing and the sheer number of features it has to offer. Recently, a video has been shared online in which an MG Windsor EV owner shares his experience of buying this vehicle. He highlights that he bought this EV over the Hyundai Creta and also many others.
MG Windsor EV Ownership Experience
This video of an owner’s perspective on buying an MG Windsor EV has been shared on YouTube by India Revs on their channel. It starts off with the vlogger introducing the owner of this particular MG Windsor EV. He first asks him about his profession and how he bought this electric vehicle. To this, he replied that he lives in Delhi but has his textile factory in Noida.
The owner then stated that he wanted to buy an EV, but he was not aware that MG had launched the Windsor EV. However, when his friend suggested he check out this vehicle, he went to look at it and was very impressed. Following this, the vlogger asks him about the price and whether he used the battery financing option.
To this, the owner mentioned that it was a very complicated system for the BaaS (Battery as a Service) program. He explained that one company was financing the vehicle, while the battery was being financed by another company. So a person has to pay two different companies, which was a huge hassle. For this reason, he bought this vehicle without any financial assistance.
He added that this particular variant is the base Excite variant, which cost him Rs 14.5 lakh (on-road). Following this, the vlogger asked him if he received any discounts. To this, he answers that as the vehicle is new, there was no discount on offer. However, he added that he saved around Rs 15,000 as he bought insurance by himself, and he believes that the MG Windsor EV is already a very value-for-money vehicle.
Why MG Windsor EV Over Creta or Others?
The host then asks the MG Windsor EV owner about the cars that he currently owns. He replies that he currently owns a Maruti Suzuki Ciaz diesel and a Renault Fluence diesel. However, due to the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP), his vehicles cannot be used. For this reason, he had to buy an EV.
Following this, the vlogger questions him if he had plans to buy any other vehicle or if he checked out any other car. To this, he mentions that he checked out the Hyundai Creta, Tata Curvv EV, and a few other cars. However, according to him, the MG Windsor EV offers the best value for money as it is very affordable, and its running cost is also extremely low.

After talking about the ownership experience, the vlogger and the owner sit inside the vehicle and talk about the pros and cons of this EV. The owner mentions that the rear of this vehicle is very spacious and offers a very large amount of legroom and headroom. It is also very feature-loaded and gets each and every basic feature and then some.
As for the cons, he mentions that the biggest con is that there are almost no physical buttons. He explains that although his vehicle has not given him any issues yet, the dependence on a single touchscreen in the center is risky, according to him. Apart from this, he mentions that overall the vehicle is very good.
