It was stationed at the Swiss facility from April 13, 2023, where it underwent a series of test flights to ensure all upgrades were in perfect working order. Before its arrival in India, the private jet embarked on a journey that included six test flights between Basel, Geneva, and London Luton airports. These flights were critical in ensuring the smooth functioning of the aircraft after its modifications.

On August 27, 2024, the Boeing 737 MAX 9 completed its final flight from Basel to Delhi. This journey lasted over nine hours and covered a distance of 6,234 kilometers. The jet touched down on Delhi’s runway 10/28 at 7:18 PM IST, marking its arrival as one of the most expensive and exclusive private jets in the country.

The Boeing 737 MAX 9 is currently one of the most expensive jets in the world. The Ambani jet comes powered by two CFMI LEAP-1B engines and was assembled at Boeing’s Renton production facility. The aircraft, which has the MSN number 8401, can cover an impressive 6,355 nautical miles (11,770 kilometers) in a single journey.

While the base price of the Boeing 737 MAX 9 stands at $118.5 million, this excludes the cost of the cabin retrofitting and interior modifications that were completed in Switzerland. Most likely, the Ambani family has spent much more money on customizations, pushing its total value well over Rs 1000 crore. The jet boasts a larger cabin and cargo section compared to its predecessor, the Boeing MAX 8.
