Ola launched the brand-new generation of their electric scooters in the market earlier this year. After the launch, we have seen videos and social media posts of customers sharing their experiences with the scooter. Ola had claimed that the Gen3 scooters are advanced and offer a better experience to customers. However, we have a video where a brand-new Ola S1 Pro Plus scooter broke down in the middle of the road while the rider was trying to do a range test.

The video has been shared by Green Ride on his YouTube channel. In this video, the vlogger picks up a brand-new Ola S1 Pro+ scooter from a customer to check the real-world range of the scooter. He rides the scooter in multiple modes and notes that the scooter was not going into Hyper mode.

This was because the rear ABS on the S1 Pro+ scooter had not been enabled by the manufacturer. The vlogger mentions that the scooter’s seat feels hard and the suspension or the ride quality is also on the stiffer side. There is ample storage space underneath the seat, and there are things that the rider liked about the scooter. However, he still felt that the build quality of the scooter was not up to the mark.

He mentioned that the performance was not consistent, and he felt there was a lag in Eco, Normal, and Sport modes. The scooter was taking time to pick up speed. During one of his acceleration tests in the city, he started from a signal in Sport mode and midway through the test, the Ola S1 Pro+ scooter turned itself off.

The scooter was being ridden inside the city, and the rider noticed that the scooter was not responding to the accelerator. The screen had turned off, and the vlogger was forced to pull over. Luckily, there was no other speeding vehicle behind, as that would have ended this video differently.

The vlogger quickly realised that the scooter was off, and he gave hand signals and pulled to the road’s shoulder. Once he safely parked the scooter, he started checking the issue. He couldn’t find anything.

He waited for 10 minutes, and then the scooter turned on. However, the peak brightness of the instrument cluster was so low that nothing was visible. He tried to ride the scooter, but it turned off once again.

The rider can be heard saying that he really thought Ola had fixed this bug in their scooters, but it has reappeared in the Gen3 scooters. The rider waited again for a few minutes before realising that the scooter’s screen had started to glow again and the system was restarting. The vlogger finally managed to get the scooter back on the road, and after completing the ride, he was left with 17 percent charge.

From 100 percent, he had driven the scooter for almost 93 km, and out of this, 88 km was in Normal mode. The rest of it was in DIY mode that Ola is offering. The rider mentions that the Ola S1 Pro+ was claiming a 190 km range in Normal mode and 202 km in Eco mode. The real-world test results are nowhere near the numbers it showcased on the display.
