Union Minister Nitin Gadkari often makes headlines for his controversial announcements. He is a big-time promoter of electric vehicles and alternative fuel options. He is also one of those ministers who have taken many initiatives to improve road infrastructure and highways. We have seen him with several expensive and unique types of vehicles in the past. Here, we have one such video where Nitin Gadkari is taken for a high-speed drive in a Ferrari at NATRAX.

The video has been shared by Nitin Gadkari on his YouTube channel. In this video, we see a variety of supercars arriving at the NATRAX high-speed test track in Madhya Pradesh. The Union Minister is seen arriving at the track and having conversations with the owners of the supercars. The exact reason why these supercars were at the track is not known.

Nitin Gadkari sits in a Ferrari Roma supercar. The car is finished in a beautiful shade of blue. Along with the Ferrari, there are other supercars like the Porsche 911, Lamborghini Huracán, and so on.  We even see a Porsche overtaking the Ferrari in which the Minister was traveling.

It should be noted that Nitin Gadkari is not driving the car here; he is simply enjoying the ride. He actually seemed pretty impressed with the or the smoothness of the surface as well as the perfromance of the supercar.

The Ferrari Roma seen here is powered by a 3.9-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine. The engine generates 690 PS and 760 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, and power is sent to the rear wheels. The Ferrari Roma was initially launched in 2019. The price for a brand-new Ferrari Roma is around ₹3.76 crore (ex-showroom).

The cars are being driven on the NATRAX. NATRAX, or the National Automotive Test Tracks, is located in Pithampur, Dhar District of Madhya Pradesh. It is Asia’s longest and one of the most advanced high-speed tracks in India for automotive testing and certification. It is the fifth-largest track in the world.

Nitin Gadkari is one of those people who often talk about building world-class highways and expressways. As part of this initiative, India has been getting several new expressways and wider highways. He also frequently monitors the development work on these highways.

In the past, we have seen Nitin Gadkari take action against contractors who were not maintaining the highways properly. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways took action against a contractor and imposed a ₹50 lakh fine on them for failing to proactively fix a section of the Amritsar-Jamnagar highway.

Gadkari was recently in the news after he proposed safety features for heavy vehicles to reduce accidents on highways. Nitin Gadkari has confirmed that MoRTH is likely to finalize a draft notification for the same. Under this new scheme, features like Electronic Stability Control System, Emergency Braking System, and Driver Drowsiness Alert and Safety System on heavy commercial vehicles will be made mandatory.

The Ministry also plans to introduce a new ₹4,500 crore centrally-funded scheme to set up driving training centers and automated testing clusters to train heavy commercial drivers and guide them toward safer driving practices.
