Owner Recovers Stolen Mahindra Thar ROXX Using Adreno-X Connected Car Feature

A few years ago, if a car was stolen, it was considered that its chances of being recovered were very low. However, today things are changing because many automakers are offering their cars with connected car features, which help the owners track their cars. The popular SUV maker Mahindra also offers its SUVs with Adrenox connected car technology, which provides the real-time location of a vehicle along with many other anti-theft features. Recently, showing how one Mahindra Thar Roxx owner used Adrenox and found his car after it was stolen, a video has been shared online.

Thar Roxx gets stolen

In the short video clip, we can note a man walking towards a Mahindra Thar Roxx parked on the side of the road. Soon after, this person, who was a thief, starts looking around to see if someone is watching him or not. When he notes that the way is clear, he unlocks the SUV and drives off from the location.

How did the thief unlock a brand-new Thar Roxx?

Now, like many others, you’d also be wondering how exactly this thief managed to steal a brand-new Thar Roxx. Well, as per the reports, this thief had created a fake key with the help of the vehicle chassis number sticker, which is placed on the window side glass.

Most automakers tell buyers to remove this sticker. However, some people who forget to remove it make their vehicles vulnerable. This was exactly the case with this particular Mahindra Thar Roxx.

Thar Roxx recovered using Adrenox

As per the video, what happened next was that the Mahindra Thar Roxx owner himself managed to recover his SUV. It was reported that this incident took place on the night of 29th November last year, and on the very next day, the vehicle was tracked down and recovered. It has been mentioned that the thieves who stole this vehicle abandoned their plan of keeping it.

The owner of this vehicle, using the Adrenox connected car technology, found out that the vehicle was dropped off by these thieves 20 minutes away from the place where it was stolen, in Faridabad, Haryana. Presently, there is no information on who exactly these thieves were or whether they have been arrested.

Adrenox saved the day

Mahindra’s in-house-developed Adrenox connected technology proved itself to be the savior in this particular case. The company offers this feature in the higher-spec variants of many of its models, including the Thar Roxx, Scorpio-N, and XUV700, along with others.

With the help of the Adrenox connected car technology, owners of the cars can track the location of their vehicles in real-time using their mobile phone application. The system utilizes GPS-based real-time tracking. Also, owners can use the geo-fencing feature to set a virtual boundary for their vehicles.

Additionally, using Mahindra’s Adrenox connect app, the owner of the vehicle also has the option to remotely immobilize the vehicle. This prevents the vehicle from being driven further. Lastly, if the vehicle detects that it is being forced open, or its ignition is being turned on without authorization, it sends alerts to the vehicle owner’s phone application.
