Rare Mahindra Marshal Beautifully Resto-Modded [Video]

The Mahindra Marshal was one of the brand’s popular SUVs back in the 1980s and ’90s. It was mostly used as a utilitarian vehicle by people living in rural India. Today, most of the Mahindra Marshals have been scrapped or are rotting away. However, recently a popular shop from Kerala managed to beautifully restore a Mahindra Marshal. This particular model has been restored and modded using elements from the new Thar, and it looks absolutely amazing.

1998 Mahindra Marshal restomod

The video of the restomodding process of this particular Mahindra Marshal has been shared on YouTube by KAM Customs on their channel. It starts off with a few technicians working on the custom bare metal body of this particular Mahindra Marshal. It can be noted that a number of the parts on the outside and the inside have been custom fabricated.

One of the men can be seen working on the fitment and fabrication of the rear seat. Also, the dashboard and the center console of this vehicle have been custom fabricated from sheet metal. Following this, the vehicle then goes into the body shop, where it was seen inside a paint booth getting fully prepared before the paint application.

Soon after this, the vehicle is shown with a complete paint job. It has been finished in a classy shade of pearlescent green. Also, the alloy wheels of this vehicle have been painted in gloss black with a custom golden barrel, which complements the green paint job of the SUV.

Moving on, the technicians of the shop can be seen working inside the vehicle on the wiring loom. It can be observed that they were adding all the buttons and testing out the custom LED headlights and also the newly added rear taillights. After this, the SUV is shown with the custom seats fitted inside it.

We can note that these are not the original seats of the Mahindra Marshal and have been taken off from some other vehicle. As for the design of the interior, it has been given complete black and orange leather upholstery, which looks very classy. Its dashboard also gets custom stamped sheet metal with Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG-styled air conditioning vents and a small infotainment screen in the middle.

Final product

The video after the complete assembly of the vehicle shows beauty shots of this SUV. It can be noted that at the front, it gets custom LED headlights and also Thar-like daytime running lights on the fenders. The front grille, which was added, has also been painted in the same light gold color as the wheel barrels.

Apart from these, it also gets a custom metal front bumper with two massive jungle lights. There are also shackles on this bumper, and there is an antenna as well. Moving on to the side profile, the vehicle gets gold-painted Mahindra lettering on the bonnet and gold elements on the doors. Additionally, it also gets custom metal side steps and a rear bumper.

Mahindra Marshal

This particular Mahindra Marshal is a 1998 model year vehicle. It came powered by a 2.5-litre naturally aspirated diesel engine. This reliable motor was capable of producing 62 bhp and around 182 Nm of torque. Transmission duties were handled by a 4-speed manual gearbox, and it also came with an optional 4X4 system.
