When it comes to the most successful hatchbacks in India, the Maruti Suzuki Swift is a hard-to-miss car. Over the years, we have seen some crazy modified Swifts in the country. However, most likely there is no other Swift that can come close to this particular Swift. Recently, a video showing the country’s first and only ever rear-engined, rear-wheel-drive Swift has been shared online. Yes, you heard that right; this particular Swift does not get a rear seat. The video of this insane Swift has been shared on YouTube by B Choww on their channel. It starts with the vlogger mentioning that this is the one and only Swift of its kind in the entire country. The main highlight of this Swift is that its engine has been placed in the rear. He first shows the exterior of the Swift.

Exterior walkaround

From the outside, the vlogger mentions that it may seem like a normal Swift. However, when you get closer, you see all the changes. He mentions that this particular car sits on lowering coils on the front and back. After this, he moves to the rear of the car and states that the most noticeable giveaways are the air vents on the rear doors and roof.

He mentions that these air vents have been given to this car to cool the engine mounted in the rear. After this, he explains that putting the engine in the rear was not an easy task for Sportech, who created this unique monster. For the execution, they had to merge two Swifts into one.

The vlogger explains that the engine had to sit on the sub-frame that is present on the front of a Swift. So for this, the folks at Sportech chopped off another Swift’s front sub-frame and took its engine and carefully placed it in the rear of this particular Swift.

Following this, he adds that they also had to take care of the positioning in such a way that it does not lose its balance. After this, the vlogger mentions that due to this, they have also managed to add disc brakes to the rear wheels of this Swift as well.

He then moves to the interior of this Swift and shows the changes done on the inside. The main change is that there are no rear seats. This was done to accommodate the engine. Apart from this, it also gets a massive and sturdy roll cage in the rear as well.

Next up, he mentions that the car gets a Sparco removable racing steering wheel. It also gets a Sparco racing driver seat. He adds that the car still gets a working air conditioner and music system. It also gets a hydraulic handbrake and a divider between the front cabin and rear section.

Following the exterior and interior walkaround, the vlogger starts driving this insane Swift. He states that the driving characteristics of this particular car are completely different from a normal front-wheel-drive Swift. He attempts a few doughnuts and burnouts with this car.

He mentions that it might seem like it will be very easy to slide this car. However, he mentions that due to the added weight on the rear axles, it is not that easy, and the car does not feel very twitchy, which he initially thought might be the case. He added that this car is extremely fun to drive.
