Tamil actor Ajith Kumar is well known for his love for cars and racing. He owns several fast sports cars and is often seen carving corners on racetracks. He now owns a racing team, Ajith Kumar Racing, and is currently preparing for the Dubai 24-hour race. A recent video shows him involved in what looks like a horrific crash. The actor, however, could walk out unscathed.

The crash occurred during one of his practice rounds at Dubai Autodrome. At around 12:45 am, the Porsche race car (a 992 GT3) that he was driving lost control, crashed into a barrier and spun multiple times before coming to a complete stop. The front end of the car seems to have shattered.
The debris and drama are vocal about the crash being serious. However, the driver remained safe and walked away post-crash. This Porsche should have been carrying a speed of around 180 kph at the time of the crash. The security personnel on the track were extremely quick with their responses.
After the crash, his team confirmed that Ajith Kumar was unhurt and continued the practice sessions in another car as the one involved in this crash was totalled.
The video of the crash was shared on the official handle of AK Racing, with the caption “Ajith Kumar’s massive crash in practice, but he walks away unscathed. Another day in the office… that’s racing!”
Dubai 24H: A Big Opportunity For Ajith Kumar Racing
The Dubai 24 Hour would be an important event for Ajith Kumar Racing. This endurance event for sports car and touring cars is much sought after by passionate drivers and teams from around the world and is held at the Dubai Autodrome.
Like every other 24H Series races, promoted by Creventic, this too is open to both professional and semi-professional teams. Each season would have participants from both UAE and surrounding nations and from Europe and other foreign countries.
However, the event stands different from the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the fact that it is open to teams who register prior to the actual race, unlike the Le Mans where the teams would be invited by the organizers themselves.
Participation and possible podium in Dubai 24H could earn AK Racing (Ajith Kumar Racing) commendable international exposure. It is thus an opportunity that should hardly be missed! His teammates for the Dubai 24H are Mathieu Detry, Fabian Duffieux, and Cameron McLeod. Fabian also happens to be the team manager. The race is scheduled to be held on January 11-12, 2025.
Previous Stints In Racing
Ajith isn’t new to racing. He has previously competed in events like Formula BMW Asia, British Formula 3 and the FIA F2 Championship. He is also a hardcore biker and had kickstarted his racing career in the National Motorcycle Racing Championship. Upon his return into the sport after decade of hiatus, he intends to compete across Europe with his team.

Let’s have a look at his career now. Ajith Kumar is preparing for the release of two highly anticipated movies- Vidaamuyarchi and Good Bad Ugly. The former is an action thriller directed by Magizh Thirumeni while the later would be directed by Adhik Ravichandran, and would have Ajith alongside Trisha. Good Bad Ugly is set for an April release.
