Tata Harrier Sturdy Build Quality Saves Careless Driver Who Flipped SUV [Video]
Buyers in India are now prioritising safety over features, and it is a very good thing. However, no matter how safe a vehicle is and how many stars it has, if the driver driving it is stupid, then accidents will take place. Recently, showing how a five-star safety-rated Tata Harrier managed to save the lives of two stupid people after a horrific crash has been shared online. It was noted that despite flipping over, the roof of the Harrier did not collapse and saved the occupants.
This video showing the aftermath of the Tata Harrier crash, which destroyed a railing and a few trees, has been shared on YouTube by Prateek Singh. In the short clip, it was seen that a Tata Harrier Dark Edition was completely flipped over on a road. As per the report, this particular accident took place on the Adchini road in Delhi, where a man and woman were driving this vehicle at around 3:30–4:00 AM on June 22.

As per the person who shared the video and details to the video creator, there were two people — a driver and a female occupant — inside the vehicle. He highlighted that this particular Tata Harrier had crashed into the railings and the trees on the divider, destroying everything in its way. Now, as per the driver of the vehicle who told the people who came to the rescue, the Harrier was being driven by him.
He added that he was trying to save an autorickshaw and its driver, who came in front of his SUV while driving at the speed of 40–50 kmph. However, eyewitnesses who were present at the spot of the accident revealed that the vehicle was not being driven by the man. Rather, the woman was behind the steering wheel, and the speed was also a lot more than 40–50 kmph, as the damage done is impossible to take place at such low speeds.
As per the information provided, what happened next was that the parents of these people arrived in their BMW. It was highlighted that they were very composed and chilled out and acted like nothing had happened. Thankfully, no one was seriously injured after the accident. Only the finger of the man who was in the car was cut, and he was subsequently given a band-aid. No other driver or vehicle was involved in the accident.
Tata Harrier’s build quality saves the day
The only brighter side of this accident was the revelation that the Tata Harrier’s excellent build quality has once again saved lives. From the video, we can note that the vehicle, which most likely was overspeeding, had a very strong impact with the barrier, railings, and the trees on the divider. However, the vehicle was intact and managed to save its occupants.
It can also be observed that despite the fact the vehicle was completely flipped over, its roof did not collapse. This was the major reason why the people inside survived. As per the video, the airbags of this vehicle were not deployed. However, that could have been due to the passengers not wearing seatbelts. In the clip, the public can be seen flipping it over on its wheels.
Tata Harrier, for those who may not be aware, is a five-star safety-rated vehicle. It was the first car to be crash-tested by Bharat NCAP. It has scored 30.08 points out of 32 in adult protection. Additionally, it also scored 44.54 out of 49 points in child occupant protection. Overall, it managed to score a perfect 5-star safety rating. It also scored five stars in the Global NCAP as well.
