Tata Nexon.EV Goes Out Of Control At High Speed: Driver Says He Put It In 'Sport Mode' [Video]

Electric vehicles are extremely quick when compared to regular ICE vehicles. The sudden burst of power and torque is not something that everyone is prepared for. This is why people who switch from ICE to EVs often find the cars thrilling to drive. This thrill often lands you in trouble as not everyone can handle an EV at high speed. Here we have a video that shows just that. A Tata Nexon ev driver lost control of the vehicle after he was driving the car in Sport mode at high speed. Thankfully the driver and occupants escaped without any injuries.

The video has been shared by Daily Dhanushdhari on their Instagram page. As per the page, the accident happened on Loknagari Bypass Road in Ambernath which is an eastern suburban city in Thane district of Maharashtra. The accident happened at around 10 PM and the incident was captured in the CCTV installed on the highway.

In the video, we can see that the camera is facing a curve on the highway. There are not many vehicles on this highway. We see a Tata Nexon EV coming fast from the direction where the camera is looking at.

The Nexon EV seen here is the type 1 model and just as the Nexon EV crossed the curve the driver lost control and the car started spinning on the road. The video mentions that the car was being driven in the sport mode and the driver lost control of it because of it. The driver must have lost balance while taking the curve at high speed.

The front of the car crashed into the median and then it was thrown to the other side of the road. A two-wheeler rider who was passing through the same stretch luckily escaped from getting hit by the car.

The car narrowly misses the scooter and comes to a stop after crashing to the pedestrian path wall on the road. The airbags on the Nexon ev deployed on time and the driver and the co-passenger in the car survived without any major injuries. The video mentions that the driver of car said that he put the car in Sport mode accidentally and he was not aware how this would change the cars character.

The speed of the car increased suddenly and the driver was not ready for it. Tata Nexon and Nexon EV is a sturdy vehicle and that is why the front and rear of the car absorbed the impact of the crash pretty well. We see that even after the high speed crash, only the front and rear bumper of the car looked damaged.

The locals have raised concerns about speeding vehicles in the area and have asked police to increase patrolling at night. The occupants and the scooter rider was extremely lucky to have escaped from this crash without any injury.
