5 SUVs That Have Mahindra BE 6e-Like Torque

Mahindra Automotive has taken over the country with the official launch of its newest-born electric SUV, the BE 6E. This SUV has been launched with one of the most powerful drivetrain setups, providing an impressive 282 bhp of power and 380 Nm of torque. However, if you want to buy the BE 6E with this amazing powertrain, you’ll have to wait a while. So, if you are someone who wants to buy an SUV that can provide a similar amount of torque, here is a list of SUVs currently on sale in India.

Mahindra XUV700

The first vehicle on this list is Mahindra’s very own SUV, the XUV700. If you want something that has even more torque than the upcoming BE 6E, the XUV700 is the way to go. This particular SUV comes equipped with a 2.2-litre diesel engine, which, in its most popular tune, makes 182 bhp and a whopping 450 Nm of torque.

It comes mated to a 6-speed manual as well as an automatic gearbox (optional), and it gets a front-wheel-drive layout. The BE 6E, on the other hand, will come with an electric powertrain that will send all of its 282 bhp of power and 380 Nm to the rear wheels.

The XUV700 also comes with another engine option, which is a 2.0-litre mStallion turbo petrol engine that makes 197 bhp of power and 380 Nm of torque. It also comes with manual as well as automatic transmission options and offers a front-wheel-drive layout, which is not as exciting as the RWD layout of the BE 6E.

Mahindra Scorpio-N

Next up in the lineup is the Mahindra Scorpio-N, another one of Mahindra’s very popular SUVs. It also comes powered by the same 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine, which generates 172 bhp and 400 Nm of torque. The Scorpio-N, unlike the XUV700, comes equipped with a rear-wheel-drive configuration.

The Scorpio-N is also offered with a petrol engine option as well. This engine is capable of producing 200 bhp and 380 Nm of torque. It must be noted that although it makes exactly the same amount of power as the BE 6E, the driving experience will differ a lot, as it is a ladder-on-frame chassis, which is not as agile as the electric skateboard architecture-based BE 6E.

Tata Harrier

Another very popular mid-size SUV that offers a decent amount of torque is the Tata Harrier. This SUV comes equipped with a 2.0-litre Kryotec diesel motor, which makes 168 bhp and 350 Nm of torque. Now, although it is 30 Nm lower than that of the BE 6E, it is still a decently powerful drivetrain that feels robust on the road. It comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox and an optional automatic transmission, with all the power sent to the front wheels.

Tata Safari

Like the Tata Harrier, its seven-seater sibling, the Safari, is another SUV that makes close to the 380 Nm of torque of the BE 6E. The Safari also comes powered by the same 2.0-litre Kryotec diesel engine, which produces 168 bhp of power and 350 Nm of torque. The power of the Safari is also sent to the front wheels, and it also comes with both 6-speed manual and automatic gearbox options.

Isuzu MU-X

Another SUV that is not as appreciated in the Indian automotive market is the Isuzu MU-X. This SUV also comes with a decently powerful 1.9-litre Ddi VGS turbo diesel engine. It is capable of producing 161 bhp of power and 360 Nm of torque. It comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox and a rear-wheel-drive configuration.
