Toyota Innova With 10 Lakh Kms: Owner Explains What It Feels Like [Video]

Toyota is a name that most people associate with reliability, and there are several examples online that prove the same. Doing a lakh or two on the odometer is usual business for Innova owners. We have seen people sharing their experiences with Innova MPVs from different parts of the country. Here we have one such video where a Toyota Innova MPV owner shares his experience after completing 10 lakh, or 1 million, kilometers.
The video has been shared by Walk With Neff on his YouTube channel. In this video, the vlogger speaks to the owner of a Toyota Innova from Kerala’s Kannur district. The Innova seen here is actually a taxi, and that is the reason why the owner managed to clock so many kilometers on this vehicle.
The owner of the Innova, Sathar, mentions that to date, he is satisfied with the vehicle. He actually runs a travel and cab business in Kerala. Apart from the Innova, he also owns a Force Traveller and a Toyota Etios.
He mentions that he maintains all his vehicles properly and in a timely manner. However, he talks a lot about the Innova. The MPV looks clean and well-maintained and doesn’t look like a car that has done so many kilometers on the odometer.
The owner talks about the maintenance and service routine. He relied on showroom services up to 7 lakh km, after which he switched to a local workshop managed by a former Toyota technician. However, he has remained committed to using only genuine Toyota parts. By moving the fitting and labor work to the local workshop, he has significantly reduced service expenses. This Innova is serviced every 10,000 km.
Independent garages like these are becoming increasingly popular. Staffed by skilled technicians with experience at authorized service centers, they offer OEM-quality fittings. For cost-conscious customers, this often translates to better value for money.
According to Sathar, his driving style allows the brake pads to last up to 1 lakh km. Tyres typically last between 70,000 to 80,000 km, and he prefers using Yokohama, with each tyre priced at around ₹6,500. The timing belt costs ₹3,500, and getting it fitted at the local garage has helped him manage expenses effectively. He also mentions that the clutch on his Innova usually lasts for about 2.5 lakh km.
The owner mentions that the only major issue he faced with the vehicle was when it used to get stalled. An authorized center told him that it could be because of a faulty fuel pump. Even after replacing the component, the issue continued. The owner then got the vehicle inspected and tested at a local workshop, where they told him that the issue was due to a faulty wiring kit.
Once he replaced the wiring kit, the issue got resolved. The issue occurred mainly because the owner had installed aftermarket lights. This was probably not done properly, which created issues.
It is because of things like this that many people are worried about tampering with the original wiring, as it can even lead to short circuits and fires. Sathar is extremely happy with his vehicle and mentions that his next vehicle is going to be the Innova Crysta.
