When it comes to Indian cars, there are a few cars that deserve more love than they receive. These cars that we are about to list offer a set of unique elements that make them a good deal. Unfortunately, despite these merits, these cars do not have the best sales numbers. So without any further delay, here is a list of cars that deserve to sell more.
Maruti Suzuki Jimny
The first vehicle on this list is the Maruti Suzuki Jimny. Known as the “Mountain Goat,” this lifestyle off-roader can perform some extraordinary off-roading. It offers the advantages of its lightweight when it is driven on treacherous terrains like mud and rocks.
What is also applauded is its on-road driving. Despite being a thoroughbred off-roader, Maruti Suzuki has ensured that the Jimny offers a well-rounded on-road experience as well. Unfortunately, despite its merits, the company is unable to sell a ton of Jimnys.
The primary reason for its lack of sales is its competition with the Mahindra Thar. Apart from this, many believed that the Jimny, when launched, was very overpriced. So to rectify this, the company has been introducing discounts of up to Rs 4 lakh, which makes this SUV a very value-for-money car in its price bracket.
Citroen C3 Turbo
Next up is the hatchback which many people do not talk about, and that is the Citroen C3 Turbo. This particular hatchback from the French automaker has a number of perks which are often overlooked due to the brand being a newcomer to India.
The main highlight of the C3 Turbo hatchback is its engine. It comes powered by a 1.2-litre turbocharged three-cylinder engine. This motor is capable of producing 108 bhp and 190 Nm of torque. This translates to a peppy driving experience, and it is very fun to handle as well.
The Citroen C3 Turbo also offers a very well-rounded ride quality which has been overlooked by many. Currently, the C3 Turbo is priced at Rs 9.3 lakh, and you can find a good amount of discounts on this hatchback.
Jeep Compass Diesel
A number of people believe that the Jeep Compass is a very overpriced mid-size SUV. And to some extent, it is true as well. However, many people are not aware of the fact that the Jeep Compass Diesel is a very fun-to-drive vehicle. It offers a level of luxury and premiumness that many of its rivals lack.
Apart from this, the SUV is very solidly built and is very strong. Additionally, it is one of the rare mid-size SUVs that comes with a proper 4X4 setup. This means that in addition to driving on roads, it can do a substantial amount of off-roading as well. The Jeep Diesel comes equipped with a 2.0-litre diesel motor that makes 172 bhp and 350 Nm of torque.
Honda Elevate
Although not as feature-loaded as some of its rivals, the Honda Elevate mid-size SUV is a very amazing car. It is offered with a single engine option of a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine shared with its sibling Honda City. This motor makes 119 bhp and 145 Nm of torque.
Now, it may seem slightly less on paper when compared to the top-spec variants of the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. It offers slightly better performance when compared with the lower variants of these SUVs. It also has to be mentioned that the Elevate offers a very smooth and comfortable ride.
The Honda Elevate is also very easy to drive and maneuver around tight city spaces. Additionally, the build quality of Honda cars is already top-notch. So if you are in the market for a decent mid-size SUV, you should definitely check it out.
Nissan Magnite Turbo
Last but not least on this list is the Nissan Magnite Turbo sub-compact SUV. This small yet fun-to-drive SUV gets overshadowed by its more expensive rivals. However, in reality, it offers very punchy performance from its turbocharged engines, and it is also very affordable as well.
The Nissan Magnite Turbo comes equipped with a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder turbo petrol engine. This motor is capable of producing 100 PS of power and 160 Nm of torque. It comes with both a 5-speed manual as well as a CVT gearbox.
