The demand for SUVs has been on the rise not just in India but globally. In India, sub-4-meter and compact SUVs have been performing well, and it looks like car manufacturers are experimenting with 7-seater SUVs. We saw some of these SUVs launched in the market this year, and more such 7-seater SUVs are set to be launched next year. Here’s a list of those SUVs:
MG Gloster Facelift
The first SUV on the list is the MG Gloster. MG’s flagship SUV has been undergoing testing in India for some time and will feature significant design changes inspired by the Maxus D90 sold abroad by SAIC. The SUV will be offered with the same set of single and twin-turbo diesel engine options.
Kia Carens Facelift
We saw the launch of the Seltos a few weeks ago. However, Korean car manufacturer Kia is also planning to launch a 7-seater MPV in the market. It is not a brand-new model but an updated version of their popular MPV, the Kia Carens. The MPV will receive exterior changes along with feature updates like Level 2 ADAS. Kia will continue to offer the Carens with both petrol and diesel engine options. The MPV is expected to launch in the first quarter of 2025.
Maruti Grand Vitara 7-Seater
The Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara has been performing well for Maruti, and now India’s largest car manufacturer is planning to launch the 7-seater version of the SUV in 2025.
Toyota Hyryder 7-Seater
Just after the launch of the Grand Vitara 7-seater, Toyota will also enter the market with a 7-seater version of their Hyryder SUV.
Toyota Fortuner Mild Hybrid
This year, Toyota launched the diesel mild hybrid (MHEV) version of the Fortuner in the South African market. Toyota plans to launch the updated Mild Hybrid version in the Indian market next year.
Volkswagen Tayron 7-Seater
The SUV will compete against models like the Toyota Fortuner and MG Gloster. The Tayron will be sold as a CKD unit and is expected to launch in 2025.
Tata Safari EV
Tata will be launching the electric version of their 7-seater SUV, the Safari, in the market. The Safari EV is expected to be launched in the first half of 2025.
Renault Triber Facelift
One of the most affordable 7-seater cars in the Indian market has been due for an update for a very long time. Renault is expected to offer an updated exterior design along with new features and a turbo petrol engine.
Mahindra Scorpio N Facelift
Mahindra launched the Scorpio N a few years ago, and it looks like the Indian SUV manufacturer will release an updated version of the Scorpio N next year. The updated variant will include features like Level 2 ADAS along with minor cosmetic changes.
Skoda Kodiaq
The flagship SUV from the Czech car manufacturer will be officially unveiled in India during the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025. The official launch is expected to happen a few months after the unveiling.
MG Mifa 9
The Mifa 9 is a luxury MPV and will be sold via MG’s premium retail chain. MG is likely to launch this MPV to rival the likes of the Kia Carnival and Toyota Vellfire in the market. It is available as both an ICE and an electric vehicle internationally. The ICE version uses a 2.0-liter petrol and a 2.0-liter diesel engine option. The electric version comes with a 90 kWh battery pack, and the motor generates 245 Bhp and 350 Nm of peak torque.
