Maruti Ertiga is often considered one of the most value-for-money MPVs in its segment. It is a popular MPV among buyers from both the private and commercial sectors. The Ertiga has been in the market for a very long time, and it is a 6-7 seater MPV sold in India and many other Asian markets. The current generation Ertiga, seen here, was launched back in 2018, and since then, it has not received any major updates. Here, we have a set of render images that show how the next-gen Ertiga could look.

The images have been shared by Malvin WS on Instagram. There are no reports of the next-gen Ertiga from Maruti so far, and the images seen here are simply digital renders created by an artist. The artist has taken inspiration from several cars to make it look different from the existing Ertiga.
The front fascia of the MPV has been completely redesigned. It gets a Toyota-like front grille with decent use of chrome. The horizontal gloss black slat on the upper portion of the grille is taken from the new-gen Dzire. Similarly, the headlamps are also taken from the new Dzire. We see LED DRLs, LED headlamps, and fog lamps integrated into the front bumper.
The front bumper gets a premium design, and the bonnet design is also different. Coming to the side profile, the next-gen Ertiga looks bigger than the current version. The alloy wheel designs are different, and they are wrapped in low-profile tires. We see distinct character lines on the side of the car. The side profile of the car is inspired by the Mitsubishi Xpander MPV, which is why it looks larger.
The dual-tone shade adds to the perceived size of the vehicle. We do not see the rear of the Ertiga in this render, but we assume it will be different too. The bumper, vertically stacked tail lamps, and other elements would likely differ from the current version. The render also hints at the Ertiga Hybrid, suggesting that the artist believes the next-gen Ertiga will feature hybrid technology.
We already know that Maruti Suzuki has plans to introduce hybrid technology in the Fronx with its facelift in 2025. However, it won’t be the same strong hybrid technology as in the Grand Vitara. Maruti will offer series hybrid technology in its upcoming vehicles.
What is a Series Hybrid?
Unlike the strong hybrid or parallel hybrid system, the series hybrid tech does not use power from the engine to move the car. The engine in this system acts as a generator that charges the batteries, which, in turn, power the electric motor. The electric motor then sends power to the wheels.
This is a simpler, less complicated hybrid system as it eliminates the need for a direct mechanical connection between the engine and wheels. Maruti’s Series Hybrid System streamlines the powertrain, reduces complexity, and improves efficiency.
Maruti will be introducing the series hybrid tech in future models, which is expected to significantly improve overall efficiency. Don’t be surprised if you see a Maruti Dzire or future Ertiga MPV boasting fuel economy figures of 30 km/l or above. It should be noted that the Ertiga seen here in the post is just a digital render and there is a high chance that the next-gen Ertiga doesn’t look anything like this at all.
