Yamaha R6 Superbike Catches Fire After Burnout Goes Wrong [Video]

Biking culture in India has changed over the years. Earlier, we used to look at two-wheelers as a cheap mode of transportation, but now there are several young riders in the country who do road trips on expensive and high-performance bikes. Along with this, we have also started seeing videos where people perform stunts on public roads. Here we have one such video where a Yamaha R6 sports bike rider's attempt to do a burnout goes wrong after the bike catches fire.
The video has been shared on several social media platforms. It looks like a group of friends were attempting to show off their skills on the road. The Yamaha R6 rider was planning to do a burnout. The bike looks like an R6 from the front, but we are not sure if this is a replica or the original motorcycle. The video is probably from Pakistan, as the number plate on this bike looks different from Indian plates while the individuals speak Hindi.
The rider was attempting to do a burnout, and we see him trying hard to impress his friends. However, the rear wheel was not rotating. It felt like the bike was not in its best condition. When one of his friends realised that the rider was unable to do the burnout on his own, he came forward to help.
He tried to lift the rear of the bike slightly so that the tyre would start rotating. If you notice the video, his hands looked too close to the tyre. The rear tyre started rotating, but by this time, we start seeing smoke coming out from the bike. Initially, they thought it was smoke from the rear tyre, but that was not the case here.
The engine was probably being pushed too hard, or it was smoke from the burning clutch. Soon after the smoke, we see fire break out from the engine of the bike. It looks like the engine of the bike was unable to handle all the pressure and decided to give up. Usually, when engines blow up, there is a chance they catch fire because there are several hot components along with fuel and lubricants inside the engine.
If any of these come in contact with a hot surface, they can easily catch fire. We feel something like that happened here. The fluids from the engine can be seen on the road after the bike caught fire.
The rider was either too new to such stunts and couldn’t do it properly, or the condition of the bike was pretty bad. It is possible that the owner or the rider was not maintaining the bike properly, and that was the reason the engine blew out.
Just before the fire broke out, the fuel tank on the motorcycle moved up a bit, which could mean that there was a serious problem with the bike. The rider narrowly escaped the fire.
The rider and his friends were not actually performing stunts; they were clearly abusing the bike here, and that is what resulted in this fire. We hope the biker learns a lesson from this mistake and doesn’t attempt such stunts again.
