2025 Mahindra Thar Roxx MX1 Diesel And Petrol On Video
The Mahindra Thar ROXX is currently one of the most popular SUVs in the market. It was launched on August 15 last year, and many people were blown away by the cost of the base variants of this SUV. It was announced that the MX1 petrol variant will start at Rs 12.99 lakh; meanwhile, the MX1 diesel variant will be priced at Rs 13.99 lakh. Now, finally, after months of waiting, the MX1 variants have started arriving at dealerships, and recently, videos showing these two models have been shared online.
Mahindra Thar ROXX: MX1 petrol
First off, let's start with the detailed walkaround of the Thar ROXX MX1 petrol variant. This particular video has been shared on YouTube by Yash9W on their channel. It starts off with the vlogger showing the 2025 Thar ROXX base MX1 variant with the petrol engine option. He then highlights that this particular SUV is finished in the shade of Tango Red.
Following the introduction, he then starts showing the exterior design of this vehicle. He states that at the front, the MX1 variant of the Thar ROXX gets the same circular LED headlights. However, the DRLs do not work on these. After this, he highlights that the base variant also misses out on fog lights and silver paint on the front bumper.
Moving on, he shows the side profile, which gets 18-inch steel wheels with disc brakes on the front and drum brakes in the rear. He then moves to the rear of the vehicle and mentions that it looks the same as the top-of-the-line AX7L variant. It gets the same C-shaped LED taillights. However, it misses out on a rear window wiper, washer, and defogger.
After showing the complete exterior design, the vlogger moves to the interior of the Thar ROXX MX1 petrol. He states that the base variant comes with black fabric seats, and the dashboard is also finished in black on the upper part. As for the features, it misses out on a sunroof, larger 10.25-inch infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ventilated front seats, digital instrument gauge cluster, and many others.
The main highlight of the MX1 petrol variant of the Thar ROXX is its price tag and its powertrain. It starts at Rs 12.99 lakh. As for the engine, it comes equipped with a 1.5-litre turbo petrol motor which makes 160 bhp and 330 Nm of torque. As for the transmission, it only comes with a 6-speed manual gearbox and 4X2 option.
Mahindra Thar ROXX: MX1 diesel
Apart from the video of the Thar ROXX petrol, we have another video which shows the Mahindra Thar ROXX MX1 diesel. This particular variant is the most affordable diesel variant of the Thar, and it is priced at Rs 13.99 lakh, making it Rs 1 lakh more expensive than the petrol variant. In terms of design and features, the MX1 diesel also comes with the same exterior and interior as the petrol model.
Powering the Mahindra Thar ROXX MX1 diesel is Mahindra’s time-tested 2.2-litre diesel motor, which is capable of producing 150 bhp and 320 Nm of torque. As for the transmission option, like the petrol model, it also is only offered with a 6-speed manual gearbox and 4X2 option.
